All I can say, Crow, is that yesterday's disappointments keep reminding me that tomorrow's surely coming. Hell, just as sure as the air I breathe! And I want you to know, that I know you can get through it. You've got what you need.

I mean, sure...you've got so far to go! And only heaven knows how far! But the sun keeps shining, the wind keeps blowing, and so long as that wide blue sky stays the same...shouldn't that give you so much hope?

I mean, oddly enough that song really does bring me to a somewhat sane place these last few days. Kinda nifty, that.

I'm a bit curious of the "V" after Ace. Is that supposed to be the letter or the Roman numeral?

Or is it supposed to be "Ace Versus Combat 7" now?

According to Kobayashi, it's a typo.

If anything though, this is encouraging that they're beginning to score the game now. Usually laying down music is one of the last things that gets done during production. ...Unless you have an insane scattershot production like Final Fantasy XIII that results in an entire album of prototype tracks that got thrown out because the game was constantly changing and the music staff had to do mad dashes to keep up with it.

To be fair, Project Aces does not seem to present the reckless arrogance Square-Enix has been known for in the past. So, hopefully they have whatever is planned for Ace Combat 7 already nailed down and almost ready to go.

So I know it's been a bit since the Stonehenge video dropped, but I have a quick story about the mission I want to share. Depending on your tastes it might be depressing or darkly funny, but hey.

So I'm playing through the Stonehenge mission with some attack plane (can't remember which specifically, might have been the A-10). Point being, my plane was not meant to get into a dogfight of any kind, so I ignored the escort planes and focused solely on blasting the hell out of Stonehenge.

Then the MISSION UPDATE flashes up and the Yellows come in and I'm like "Oh poo poo, this is not going to be a fun fight, I"m in a bad plane for this." So I charge directly at the lead plane Cipher-style, fire off a pair of missiles and break hard to prepare for the upcoming dogfight because there was too much space between me and the lead plane and there's no way those missiles would-

*BOOM*
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
"Yellow 13 here. Did anyone see Four get out?"

Not going to lie, I felt like a massive bastard after accidentally pulling that stunt.

I'd bust out laughing after that taking out the yellow that way (which will always be Yellow 4 no matter who you shoot down).

Especially since the weapons in most attack planes are angled down, making it extra hard to accurately dumbfire at an air target with them.

I've got a private Discord server set up for recording Ace Combat videos. A few people here are already on it, but I'm willing to open it up for use for Assault Horizon. Particularly if anyone wants to record this little session with OBS and throw it up on YouTube, which I was actually considering doing myself.

Also, I have another one of those posts for you all.

The Sony PlayStation 3 is a truly fantastic machine in all its various incarnations. Yep, I caught the Jaids again and my BC PS3 Yellow Light of Death'd me tonight as I went to record some more footage for 04. It won't boot up and the 04 disc is stuck inside it, so I'm going to have to take it to a local repair shop tomorrow and have it looked at, and hopefully they can fix it.

The good news is that I have up to Mission 16 recorded in full. I'm getting ready to record commentary for Mission 13 with Cooked Auto some time this weekend/early next week. I do have footage for the final two missions, but it's peppered with audio and video glitches. And when I went to replay them tonight to fix that, the PS3 crapped out on me. The good news out of all this is that there's still weeks between here and where those videos should realistically go up, so there hopefully won't be too much of a gap once we get rolling again.

In the meanwhile, Total Extreme Wrestling is getting ready to come online fully, and I also have yet ANOTHER side LP that I will be rolling out with Artix in the coming days, so stay tuned for that as well.

drat, that's a bummer. Years ago I got a ps3 for Christmas and then not even a month after opening the box the yellow light happened. It made me sad! I'm sure it can be fixed though, unlike back when the ps3 first came out and it was a mysterious and totally unfixable hellbug.

Okay, so good news: the PS3 is alive again (for now). I'm just in the process of replaying the game to get the cutscenes for Farbanti and Megalith because those don't actually play in Free Mission mode, nor does the special hangar audio clip for the final mission. I'm also going back and popping off all the special aces so I have all their colour schemes unlocked for the finale video too.

Also, one more interesting note: when replying Lifeline without cheats this time I actually managed to score a hit on not one but TWO Yellows during the escape sequence, with regular missiles, no less. And the game actually acknowledged it as a hit this time. So I don't know what happened the first time whether the game just bugged the gently caress out because there were so many live missiles on screen that it couldn't tell if anything connected or not.

Sadly, while I didn't get footage of the actual hit in-game that has the HIT icon pop up and confirm it, I did manage to capture the post-mission replay of it, so I might throw that up soon as a bonus video. I will try to replicate it again and see if my luck holds out a third time, so keep your fingers crossed.

My PSP low-key temporarily broke yesterday (still not sure what happened but I think it might have been to do with it having rained yesterday and I had it in my breast pocket on the way to the subway), so I feel you.

Also, Saturday or Sunday for the Assault Horizon jam?

Edit because I don't want to double-post: I just got this month's issue of Combat Aircraft and there was a two-page feature centered on a couple photos that leaked late this summer of...drum roll please...a couple of F-117s taxiing to the runway at Holloman. That's right. The Nighthawk might be back.
