question for chat thread. would election results have been different without commey's last minute letter and then hasty retraction? or were systemic problems with campaign and electorate deep enough that the results would have been very similar. i can't say one way or the other

Otoh maybe spending time and money on those states (maybe without even changing policy agendas!) would have actually done something too. Or a different candidate. Or a different policy agenda. I think the perception of Hillary as crooked and insidery is something that has been built over decades, not the last week or two, and I don't think any new developments on that front would play much of a role in crafting her identity.
