Hello Fatty!

Fun Shoe
So something just occurred to me. Has any reporter ever done a sit-down interview with a major politician from either party and asked them to list their donors and explain why they won't become beholden to those donors? Because I can't think of a single time it's happened.

One thing about a high speed rail network which would be nice, is after the initial investment there would be an actual viable competition for Air Travel in the country. While dreams of say someone living in Portland OR, and commuting to Seattle, WA are not that realistic. Instead things like business travel, vacation etc. would all be able to benefit from these networks. I would much rather deal with an eight hour train ride than a 4 hour flight personally and I think others would as well.

Plus high speed trains I believe wouldn't be dependant on aviation fuel which is expensive and is terrible for the environment.

Has he said that again after the election? He said he was going to work on redistricting reform, back when we all thought Clinton was going to be president. Making any serious progress on that seems kinda unrealistic now.

yeah, it's not unprecedented or anything. generally presidents live somewhere else and don't really have any ties to DC but the obamas want to let their kids finish out school before moving back to chicago. as soon as that happens though michelle is packing up house which is why she's not going to run for potus in 2020

Heh.

Donald Trump seated himself at the head of the long table. As he straightens his tie, three projectors along the back of the room turned on. Upon the first, a clipping of Newt Gingrich's promise to institute an Unamerican Activities organization. The second showed a chart showing a decrease in sea ice on Earth through October and November for the first time in recorded history, a bold red line drawing an outlier stating clear as day that climate change was real, and that it was Now. Upon the third, four words: "Roe, Obergfell, Equal Protection."

"I have come to bargain" Trump began.

Gingrich proposes we blackmail Elon Musk into building a moon colony for 13,000 pure of thought Americans to colonize as the 51st state, while we systematically loot the social safety net to build our space navy after we decide to pull out of the Outer Space Treaty. After the border is secured and after everything gets normalized, we’re going to make a determination on the people that you’re talking about who are terrific people, they’re terrific people but we are gonna make a determination at that-- But before we make that determination-- Lesley, it’s very important, we want to secure our border.

Isn't this basically Obama's current policy? Pursue the violent criminals but leave the rest alone for the time being?

I've felt this way for years. One of the reasons I absolutely didn't care for Clinton and it took me months to come around after Bernie lost was that there'd already been a Clinton in the white house. That was her husband. Millions of other women out there and they picked her. I had the same problem with GWB. Again there was that brand recognition. Serious problems with him. I don't like the precedent it sets. To put it in perspective if Clinton had won it'd be four of the five last presidencies being handed around by powerful political families. We came close to that, and while I appreciate what HRC had to bring to the table (sometimes) I would've preferred a different candidate. Bernie would've been cool, but surely there could've been better and newer blood in the dems to run for the presidency.

I have yet to see a poll that asked the question whether people were comfortable with the spouse of a president becoming president. However, there is also a gender issue with regard to Hillary Clinton. If the situation was reversed and it was Bill Clinton instead would I feel the same way.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was one of the reasons people didn't like Hillary Clinton.
