Why the hell would Trump back down to the GOP congress? The public hates congress and he just won the election with them openly being contemptuous of him. He can threaten to unleash the Pepes on Rand Paul and his ilk.

I'm not saying that you're racist necessarily just that you support racists and bigots by posting here and giving Lowtax money. I think the Blairite shitbags in Labour underestimated how popular Corbyn would be with their party's supporters. I don't think that'll happen with Bernie because of how well he did in the primary. They will at least humor him, but the real test is if they try to keep control of the DNC out of their hands.

If Ellison can make gains and build a strong roster of progressive candidates, that window might stay open indefinitely.

Ryan and most of the rest of the GOPe refused to go after Trump when he was a joke, running around grabbing women by the pussy, and everyone "knew" that he was going to lose, bigly and embarrassingly. It's absolute fantasy land to think that they will somehow be more emboldened to stand up to him now that he is the actual president of the United States, backed by a literal goddamn army of red hat-wearing Pepe avatars. I get the need to cling to hope, but Paul Ryan ain't your guy.

Then Bernie said "hell no" and began fixing the gushing leaks and by bilging the water and rowing twice as hard and he's not gonna give up until we all reach the land of economic and social justice.
