Holy poo poo we really can't have nice things: http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/dance/7573336/buenos-aires-kraftwerk-concert-electronic-music-banquote:According to a report from Brazilian publication Clarin, Buenos Aires officials passed the ban in September as a reaction to 10 drug overdoses by party-goers at April's Time Warp festival... Organizers argue the Kraftwerk show is nothing like a dance music festival, and they are right, but the city maintains that any show using synthesizers is strictly prohibited.

Alright, at first it was amusing. But now I am rather pissed off at my brazilian 'moderate conservative' friends being shocked and dismayed at Trump when just a few month ago they were on the streets howling against commies and poo poo to bring down the government. Lots of media types, too. They go full (old school) Glenn Beck at home, then shift into Paul loving Krugman when the matter is north of the equator. Hey, guess what, shitheads? You were also shouting against big government, pesky minorities, being strong again and banishing the filthy liberals from power forever. Own it. It's your orange face in the drat mirror.

I was discussing trump in a bar yesterday, someone made the argument that the issue in this US election was that trump managed to be elected by repeatedly telling lies, and he was able to do that because people live in a media bubble, people need to be better informed otherwise politicians will be able to lie, for instance, there is this youtube video where lula confess that he manages to lie all the time to foreign audiences about brazil having millions of homeless children...

The thing is, despite being painted as a bloody-taloned revolutionary, Lula really is a conciliator and an assembler of alliances and coalitions. And like Obama, he could not really get loud and anry even if he wanted to, because it would reinforce every stereotype the other side is bringing out. But yeah, when he went to Roberto Marinho's funeral and actually squirt some tears over his verminous carcass instead of having it fired into the nearest black hole, even I thought it was taking the bit too far. And fat lot of good it did to him.

Freezing public spending on health and education for twenty years, appointing an all white male cabinet, and the stuff they are doing to student protesters would be a bridge too far even for Trump. And nothing Trump has said about Mexicans and Muslims compares to what the average coxinha has said about Cuban doctors, nordestinos and so on.

I want to see the faces of these ANTI NWO when they see the people Trump will bring to his hilariously incompetent cabinet (like Bolton, Giuliani, Palin, etc.) all of whom are, I think, supposed to be shills of the Jews, the reptilians or someone else.

Those people don't just vanish just because they choose to abstain. They're still out there, doing stuff and having opinions and paying taxes.

I don't get it, is the electorate "a large part" of America or not? Who gives a poo poo about any of that in the context of the post I was responding to, unless you're trying to say there was a silent majority of support for Trump among people who didn't go out and vote for him?

The margin she won the popular vote by is tiny compared to the large number of people who couldn't bring themselves to care enough to turn up or register to get a mail in ballot.

It sounds like we agree and you're just trying to undermine the concept of Clinton having more popular support than Trump because you do not like her.

Trump is more concerned about Mexico than about us. Brazil's government isn't really that into Trump because despite having a lot in common, they see themselves as "classy" politicians. I think when push comes to shove, they'll happily keep their trade relationships and not much is gonna happen. I could be wrong tho because this is 2016 and nothing seems to make sense so I'm already figuring out how to please our new God-Emperor best.

Back in 2004, the Lula government was quietly rooting for a Bush win, because at that point Republicans essentially ignored South America while democrats wanted to push the FTAA. As for the Argentine wall, it reminds me of this joke: A Brazilian and an Argentinean man are walking down the beach when they come across Alladin's lamp. Since they both discovered it, the genie gives each a wish. The Argentinean goes first and asks for a huge wall to be built around argentina so that the undesirables of Latin America can't get in. When it comes to the Brazilian man's turn, he first asks the genie "is this wall solid?" "yes" "does it go around the entire country?" "yes" "then fill it with water."
