There's no direct correlation between good pacing in an anime and a manga because animation is paced by time while manga is paced by space. Things that take less space but more time (like dialog) will usually go faster in a manga but stuff that takes more space and less time (like action sequences) will generally go faster in an anime. If a chapter is entirely exposition then an anime episode could feel well paced just by adapting that for 20 minutes. Oda never does that because he's good at his job so the anime is always way too slow

Wow it's amazing how the Korean and English translations go completely different directions for this panel despite using similar words. The Korean version, on the other hand, goes (very roughly) something like this. "You're no joke, Straw Hat!" "You don't look like you spent the entire night fighting Big Brother Cracker!" "The Chess Soldiers aren't weak but you crushed them like trash!" Like, is it a matter of interpretation or something?

Given that later on they grumble about how many of their chess soldiers they lost I think the Korean translation is more accurate.

I like that Big Mom is shown as being more nuanced than just "will rampage for food." And in just a few panels I'm excited to see what happens with Pedro and Brook. Good to see Pedro wasn't a double agent as previously speculated when he disappeared.

That was the best loving chapter and I hope every fight in the future is on the epic scale of Luffy fighting Cracker for an entire night followed by multiple devil fruit users. Also forseeing the Smoothie fighting Brook and being pissed off that he is the one man incapable of being made a smoothie, than the fight ends really perverted somehow. Also headcanon is Smoothie she was drinking is just straight up blood with no pulp Edit: Also interested in seeing if Luffy will be forced off the spot or not
