'the germans, famous fascists, are coming back for seconds as the Alternative for Germany rises to Make Germany Great Again  in greece nazis are also doing pretty good, ironically wanting to put germans in their camps (and muslims and gypsies and refugees but hey)  there are also like four other countries about to fall under the grip of fascism but hey thats europe! yeah i made this thread so we can discuss the collapse of western civilization in europe

lots of french just really dont like muslims a lot and luckily there is a candidate just for them theres calls for EU referendums in a lot of countries now. if marine le pen wins itll definitely be happening in france. merkel really seems like the last bastion of the Ancien Regime at the moment

There's an open primary election coming up on sunday in france, to determine the right wing candidate (aka the guy to run agains lepen in the second round. There are a bunch of idiots who won't win so ill only bother you with the big three. Alain Juppé, current mayor of Bordeaux (a cool city) former prime minister of Jacques Chirac, a middle of the road centrist who was exiled to Quebec for being corrupt, the favorite to win the primaries and the election against Lepen. He is like seventy so yeah, very old bald man with the support of centrists and centre right sympathizers. He was ahead in the polls but latest polls has him lose 7 points woops.  Nicolas Sarkozy, former president (who lost to Hollande lmao), incredibly corrupt,hated and unpopular, hard right shithead, lepen light, if he wins she has a very very very good chance of being elected. he would win hands down if the Republican Party membership were the only ones allowed to vote in the primaries (because they are awful)  François Filllon, former prime minister of Nicolas Sarkozy, no idea why but he's gaining steam in the polls, may unseat his former president and win the second round.

the French electoral system is weird but seems to be designed to keep the likes of FN out of power. i mean they have to overcome tactical voting in presidential/regional run offs and some sort of FPTP/preference system in legislative elections. i assume that's what it is since they got a big chunk of the vote in 2012 (14%) yet only have 2 seats in the National Assembly
