Maybe if we prevented stupid people from voting. Perhaps by requiring, say, a test to be taken at the polling station. Only allow people who pass it to vote.

That's the ticket.

Communism will help more white people than anyone else. Any equal measures unfairly provide less to minority populations just because there's less of them. Democracy is truly the tyranny of the mob.

but we don't want to be too exclusionary though, so maybe if we add some kind of clause to it, maybe one that says that if your father and grandfather was able to vote, you should be able to as well.

yeah this is one thing from the bush era i don't want to see brought back, white liberals advocating for a return to jim crow-esque restrictions on voting to keep the people in "jesusland" from voting.

While Tulsi explains that seeing and experiencing oppression in the Middle East helped her develop ideas about individual rights in the United States, she stops short of saying that the Defense of Marriage Act — which defines marriage as between one man and one woman — amounts to oppression against those who identify as gay or lesbian. Asked twice whether she believes gays and lesbians are oppressed in the United States, she declined to say. Instead, Tulsi says she looks at the law “with the goal being government getting out of our personal lives.”

Yea it's us gays just making up that Trump surrounded himself with insane homophobes and his SCOTUS shortlist was written by an anti-gay hate group and his VP literally wanted to use HIV money to instead 'cure' gay people, and the tiny progress trans rights have made is openly talked about being kicked off the cliff as well.

The problem with FPTP reform and EC reform is that whoever is currently in charge of the government just enjoyed a victory thanks to our current voting system so they're not really heavily incentivized to change it (see also: campaign finance reform)

Maine just switched to a ranked voting system, but they had to do a referendum for that

It's seriously sad that this is so hard.
The Republicans have a 50 state guide on how to get involved. No wonder they're able to capture people who feel alienated.

I can pretty much guarantee that there's local meetings going on everywhere, but the info is only spread through channels that people over the age of 80 follow.

It’s a restoration of Wall Street power — and a potential flip in the way the industry is regulated — perhaps unparalleled in American history.

“You would have to go back to the 1920s to see so much Wall Street influence coming to Washington,” said Charles Geisst, a Wall Street historian at Manhattan College. “It’s the most dramatic turnaround one could imagine. That’s the truly astonishing part.”
