I mean, OK, no special twisty heist-specific Death Vox changes, sure. But they did completely change the spawnpools and a bunch of AI behaviors with the introduction of OD, so it's not just that they can't change that sort of thing. It's still possible to make a much better balance without making low-level changes. edit: I wrote half of "Vox Downs" here before I realized that a hundred rows of of damage/accuracy charts is a bad way to start a page. One simple change? If they're only going to make loud changes, own it. Make all heists that can be completed in loud go loud immediately, and make the two stealth-only heists have a pager limit of 0. bing bing bong, so simple. Talking with the filedivers- despite what Jules said, there were changes to some of the heists aside from the general loud stuff. For example, there are 2 additional guards on Firestarter Day 2 on Mayhem, DW and OD, added with the difficulty update. Why? I don't know. Thy did Jules say there were no such changes? The fixes for that still haven't fully come through- some cameras are still missing on Golden Grin, for instance.

It looks like several heists that did weird or special things with part of the map (Golden Grin's interchangeable rooms, Alesso's remasking, and the Diamond tiles) store their scripting in separate files. It's not really that stuff was taken from Normal, it's that the people modifying the code seemed to not check those files, or missed parts when they did it. The filedivers are saying the changes were all done manually, rather than with a dynamic line that could have just replaced the equivalent of "Death wish" with "Mayhem, Death wish and One Down", but I can't really tell.
