If you aren't opposed to paying a few bucks, I like Carrot Weather. I used to be all about BeWeather, but Carrot is a fun alternative (and they both use weather underground as the source for their info). They both are paid, but both have great widgets and watch apps, and Carrot Weather has a cool iMessage app.

Like on a clear night it will have "That no moon!... wait, that's totally a moon."

Anyone else having issues with shake to undo in mail? It used to work with just the past couple of actions. Now every time I shake it wants to undo the last 12 hours of deletions which is a huge pain in the rear end.

So if you use iCloud mail is the mail stored on your own comp or apple severs?

rear end Catchcum posted:So if you use iCloud mail is the mail stored on your own comp or apple severs? iCloud's API (on macOS and iOS) and IMAP (on everything else) leave it on the server and some amount of cache of it on your device. The only way you end up only having it local is if you use POP3 like a animal.

It's like any IMAP account with local caching, so "old" mail will still be accessible when offline. Any action you do is either replicated to the server immediately or as soon as connects to the server.

What's the story on ad-blocker apps on iOS these days? I was using Firefox Focus right up until today, when they decided to just turn it into a "I swear its not for porn" privacy browser.

I don't get the reasoning, did someone at Mozilla decide their browser wasn't getting enough attention so they decided to bolt it on to some other app they maintain? "Hey look our install base went up by a million! We're the best!"

dont be mean to me posted:Firefox Focus still works as a content blocker. I saw that, but I'd have to imagine the app size has grown to compensate the new addition. Haven't checked myself, so I can't say for sure. Anyway, in case I do drop it, what's a good alternative for a low price, preferably $0.

Two quick questions. 1) Need something to organize all my recipes from like a dozen different sources (including a bunch of physical ones), Paprika is still the go-to app right? It sounds like it does everything I need, including web importing, compatible with PC and Android, cloud syncing, etc. 2) Keyboard replacements still suck or are they okay now? The one thing that really kills me about my iPhone is the drat keyboard, I'd really like something good with swype or other smart typing tech of some sort.

They're still slow to come up compared to the stock keyboard, but they do come up faster than before. Nintype is my go-to replacement, but there's some decent free ones - check out the Google one

Zigmidge posted:Is this just more ios thread dad posting or did they actually do something? It's still a Safari content blocker for Safari. Try it yourself. They're mostly concern trolling (especially the app size - yup, there's 12 MB you aren't getting back) but I understand why they might be worried Mozilla would be less interested in it being a content blocker. This would be a major shift away from Mozilla's stated and observed MOs, however, especially with no more plans for their own mobile platform. dont be mean to me fucked around with this message at 00:14 on Nov 18, 2016 |

I tried the Google keyboard and it works great, doesn't take any time at all to come up either. Picked up Paprika and it's pretty slick, real easy to import stuff from the web. Now if only I could take photos of recipes from a book and have it scan those in as text
