Lol the Republicans aren't going to vote for a minimum wage increase. We'll be lucky if they don't try to abolish the federal minimum wage. Trump can say whatever he wants, but it's clear that the Congressional GOP leadership thinks that they're the ones that run Bartertown. And they're going to ram through basically everything on their wishlist as soon as possible.

Can anyone go into more of Ellison's background? It seems he's going to a prominent figure for the next two years until Democrats scapegoat him for not picking up enough seats in the trash map 2018 elections, so I like to know a bit about him. Also, I'd heard Tom Perez was throwing his name into the ring for DNC chair. Now that he won't be getting it do we think there's any chance he finds away to stay involved or is the lose of a real labor liberal like Perez one of the many small consequences of this truly horrific election?

It just dawned on me that he will be President Trump for the rest of his life, even if his time in office is a disaster. He will be in history books, his portrait will hang in the White House, there will be a Donald Trump Presidential Library and a Trump animatronic in the Hall of Presidents at Disney World. Also if the Republicans get their way he'll be the new Reagan and they'll be evoking his legacy 30 years from now  .
