Even the Jays revenue is up like 300+ million compared to 2012. patonthebach fucked around with this message at 05:46 on Nov 18, 2016 |

I can't believe he is getting paid 21 million dollars a year. 7/150 for him was asinine. He had one great year and it wasn't even the year he became a free agent.

Twins have outrighted Trevor Plouffe. I hope this means the new front office is going to burn the shack they inherited to the ground and lay the foundation for something new. It's going to be a weird off-season in Minneapolis. They've got a few pieces but literally all they've got is a few pieces.

Plouffe wasn't that bad the last few seasons. But this means that they're committing to either Sano or Polanco at third full time which is exactly what they should be doing. I don't think I'd agree with something going "horribly wrong" if Dozier and Santana aren't traded, either.

I think they will resign, actually And no, you only trade them now if you get the right deal. Dozier especially. You can still trade them at the deadline if you don't, or the next offseason still since they both have two years (at least, Santana has an option for 2019). Panic "OH MY GOD WE HAVE TO MAKE A TRADE NOW" deals get you Matt Capps for Wilson Ramos.

Is it just me or is Cano wildly underappreciated? I feel like he should already be considered a HoF lock and greatest-of-this-generation kind of player but I rarely see him mentioned as such. Also in looking up Cano's numbers I discovered a guy named Bobby Grich who was goddamn hell rear end good, why isn't he in the hall?

He is absolutely a hall of famer and should be considered a generational 2B. Now that he plays on the west coast and for the Mariners he just gets buried. Bobby Grich has solid numbers but not so much career totals. Cano will equal Grich's total MLB games next year and already has more hits than he did by 400. And MVP-8 was the highest he got. Career WAR is really the only thing he has going for him as he had two really small separate peaks like 10 years apart. Other baseball stats: Beltre is going to get 3,000 next year. Pujols is going to get 3,000 in the beginning of 2018 (unless he reverts to a machine and gets it at the end of next year). Beltran is 380 hits short and a 40 year old free agent. Cabrera and Cano are the next two "locks" to get 3,000 hits if they stay healthy. Another edit: God drat Cabrera has gotten an MVP vote every single year he has played baseball my god. Thom P.
