The right are freaking out over the Hamilton thing. To them Hamilton is a symbol of liberal elitism and for Pence to be boo'ed, then lectured by the cast is seen as a slap in the face. "Imagine if Obama was boo'ed and lectured at a Rascal Flats concert??!!!!" Trump coming out attacking Hamilton and defending Pence is playing big to the base which leads me to believe this exactly what they wanted.
