Not sure. axes in general are pretty small blades though, even the biggest two handed ones because of frazetta art in fantasy an axe always means a huge double headed labrys wide as your arm but nobody used that ever and the labrys was a decorative symbol of authority for the most part

fighting axe looked more like this they were very popular with cavalry because of the momentum you could get while sitting high on a big horse you can tell by the handle that the whole thing is only around a yard long and the blade measuered in inches, not feet

The popularity of big plasticky looking axes (and weapons in general) in fantasy things confuses and disappoints me. And they're often animated in this weird, momentumless style.
