Someone help me before I am driven insane. I'm trying to track down a song I've heard plenty of times before playing on TV and radio. I guess you'd call it classic rock. If I had to pick when it was from I'd say most likely from the late 70's - early 80's but it could be very off either way. The song starts with an electric organ solo that repeats once before getting into the song proper with drums, guitar, lyrics etc and has a solo male vocalist with a very slightly raspy voice (I don't think they're old, it's just how they sing).

Playing around with a virtual piano I was able to get this vague memory of the beginning organ bit, although it's almost certainly wrong in parts it at least gets the gist across. I'd guess the song plays at around 130bpm:

|A . . . | E . . A | E A E . | D . C . | G . . . | D . . G | D G D . | C . B .| (repeat once)

And finally, there's a pause at the last line of each verse where the male solo singer sings three or four words without the band before it kicks back up again, with the organ playing the intro refrain above alongside them.

Could it be "Bloody Well Right" by Supertramp? Not an exact match to your description but it was the first thing that occurred to me when I read that it opens with an electric organ (well, piano in this case) solo played twice.

Can anyone help me identify an album cover? There's this fairly famous album cover (might be a back cover) which I think is from a live album from the 1970s where it's a shot of the audience from the stage, and they're all pressed right up against the edge of the stage, reaching out toward the photographer, who must have been lying on his stomach or something to take the picture?

So this might be a long shot. It had a female singer, maybe two, I think it was in French, and it had the singer going "duh... duh... duh" sort of like someone stuttering, not in a particularly musical way. That is pretty much all I remember about it, sorry.

The song I need help finding I believe is quite new. It was out this year or last year - it is so hard to find though as it only has one set of lyrics I think.

It is a club/dance kind of song but the only words in it is a black dude saying "make some noise" every now and again, followed by beat drops that sound like dubstep beats.

Not much to go on, but any ideas?

going 100% crazy trying to remember the name of a music video on youtube. it was electronic music, kinda dark and slow, and the video was all low fi VHS video cut together. at the start there was a dashcam recording of a car hitting a deer while a voice in the background said "emily" louder and louder, and after that the music began. another clip used in it was a degraded VHS recording of a killer whale at a water park or whatever swimming around.

I asked in the CSpam election thread because thats where I saw it posted first but that thread moves too quick. It was posted in that thread multiple times and the music video features a girl working in a printing facility where the lyrics to the song (which are fairly repetitive) are being printed out. The video alternates between her being bored at the job and her trashing the place.

If I remember correctly the song is by a male electronic artist featuring female vocals. Lyrics might have something to do with being/running free but I might be way off. Anyone got a clue?

I can't read music so this is a random guess, but this is the first thing that popped into my head. I think it's been in a lot of commercials too.

There's a kind of old top-40 pop song stuck in my head. I feel like I heard this song on easy listening radio stations in the oughts. It has a woman vocalist and the hook goes something like "because i'm not going to love again / if you're not going to try." (as a note, I'm very, very bad at remembering lyrics. I've googled these lyrics and variations on them and nothing is coming up)

When I get home, I'll hum a few bars on vocaroo. I'm really not great at music at all in any sense, so it's probably going to be really bad sounding.

Kind of sounds like a Debussy or other French Impressionist (Ravel, etc.) work that's been given a jazzy beat instead of its normal flowing one.

edit: I have a hunch it's one of these --

I've heard a pop song released within the past few months (I think) that I haven't been able to find the name/artist of given a few lyrics

It's a female vocalist/singing group, and beginning of the song is a instrumental vaguely brass sounding thing until the vocalist goes "oh oh OH". The chorus has "what's wrong with me" repeated quite a bit.

I know I have heard this music used before. Most likely in a documentary? Or possibly a film or other reality TV show. It's possible it might just be some stock music from somewhere so tracking it down will be impossible.

I want to say it's an Aphex Twin track (might be something on an album, might be one of the many Soundcloud tracks he posted recently) or something else instrumental and Warp-y. That said, I might be way off and it turns out to be a Eurythmics song or something. Think a very similar keyboard riff repeats a little before a beat comes in.

There's this one song I heard in a record shop...I asked the clerk what it was, but he couldn't tell me for some reason. Wasn't sure "what stream" it was coming from, he said.

Anyway, it was this catchy funk/soul tune with horns. The main lyric went something like "Ain't no tellin a lie" or "Ain't no tellin why." I couldn't tell which. But I know the last word was drawn out, like "a lieeee" or "whyyyy."

Hmmm, nope. But thanks for the offering. It sounded like something from the 60s or 70s, and the lead singer was a black (probably American) male. I have some more lyrics, too, snippets that I tried to take down with my phone. The song also went "Don't worry cause I know you're mine" and "I need you around" and "take my hand."
