That was an awesome episode even though the ending was heart crushing. But I have hope. Pablo's connection to the Necronomicum brought the book back. So I could see the reverse happening.

There wouldn't be two episodes left this season if everything was done. That said, great episode, and the reveal Ash was playing him like a fool was loving hilarious and totally in character. Also I have to give them major props for finally giving Kelly the one thing that kept her from truly being a good emerging Ash: A massive ridiculous rear end beating by something far smaller than herself. In fact I don't think she's ever really gotten her rear end beat hardcore like Ash does until now, and it's great to see she's truly following in his footsteps now.

I made a theory a while ago that if The principle characters bit the dust, Ash would probably rip a hole in time, and I still kind of buy it. I think if Kelly dies next episode, there's no way I won't believe it. Though I admit it would be clever if Ash is the one that dies and Kelly has to time travel instead to fix this poo poo. Total shot in the dark and I won't be remotely disappointed if it turns out to be false, but I can't shake the feeling it'll happen. ED: I can't help but feel the Sheriff's Daughter might have had plot importance from a few theories too - possibly relating to his father's final words - so there's a lot of poo poo time travel could fix/break here. I got Starz again JUST for this show and holy hell is it worth it. It's even better than last year, which was amazing, and I have feelings about Kelly that I haven't had about a fictional character for a long goddamn time. I should note that short foulmouthed Jewish girls are exactly my wheelhouse though, I even married one. Although mine isn't such a badass. Was waiting for her to blow her hand off by shooting the puppet. Nope. And WHAT a missed marketing opportunity - a goddamn Ash puppet right before the holidays! Working my way back through the thread - what's with Xena's face turn? Given that it's her husband's show and shot in NZ was that just to keep her around or what?

We've pretty much had the explanation given by the show: her kids turned on her and stole her immortality, so out of self-interest she turned to Ash and company to solve that problem since she wouldn't be able to by herself. But as Pablo pointed out last episode, the longer she spends as a mortal and honorary ghostbeater, the more she starts to actually care. Speculation: Which will probably lead to her making a heroic self-sacrifice in the finale for some reason. Out of diegetic reasons, it's probably so they have someone on team good who can exposit about demons and the necronomicon and read ancient Sumerian without needing to bring in more and more disposable friends of Ash. More speculation: Which would also work for her dying at the end of the season since a revived Pablonomicon would be able to take over those roles for the future.

Speaking of tie-ins, has anyone made action figures/collectibles out of Ash vs. Evil Dead? Ash, Kelly, Pablo, and Ruby along with the Delta would be great, with wooden hand, chainsaw and puppet attachments for Ash's stump.
