Sounds good to me... if leaving that racist cesspool of a job is very inconvenient for you, then call out the racism, talk to your boss about it, constructively criticize the racist rear end in a top hat for being racist etc....

do something. If you aren't panning on doing anything about blatant racism then why post about it

People may want to vent, it can be stressful to hear people say objectionable things. As it is, this is a good opportunity to give them advice, encourage them to take coordinated action, and to share experiences so as to help foster feelings of kinship between fellow human beings.

I understand it can be frustrating to hear about these things, especially when it feels like you can't do anything about it, but one can think of them sharing this as being an opportunity to help in a place where you might never be able to touch otherwise.

I think I for one would like your advice on how to do something about this should it ever come up in a workplace I am in. You seem to have familiarity with this sort of problem.

Yes my good dude, I have had to lead a diverse group of individuals from varied backgrounds while I served in the military, it taught me valuable lessons.

Nonetheless I am mostly ashamed of my service, especially since Pvt. Booty Shorts was a republican and Sgt. Booty Shorts was a socialist.

The deal the Confederacy struck with the lower class white man was a simple one, the planters will control your life and livelihood. They will own the land, they will own your house and wagon, they will set the price at which you will sell your crop and they will decide where you will live and to what standard that that life will be. However in return they will give you one thing, the knowledge that no friend of the family will ever equal or surpass you.

I doubt that this is exactly what people have in mind when they weigh politics and personal financial health. Honestly, there probably are not very many situations where people have to directly chose between those as the explicit choice they are making, and the ability to tie them together is dubious at best. people can be upset by both at once, and I don't think anyone actually profits from the poisoning of a city, at least not in ways that would overcome the obvious ripple effects that would make small the minuscule benefits it could ever have to anyone.

I don't think you understand how difficult it is for some people to be forced to interact with people who's opinions or experiences they don't share.

It's just way easier to otherize them, "leftist!" "socialist!" "fygm conservative!" "racist!" "misogynist!" instead of actually having a discussion about how to best move forward after the Democrats just lost an election to a reality TV star.

What does the left mean? It is obviously an amorphous concept. For me a core defining part of leftism is an acceptance of the results of critical theory, that we can look at the ways cultures, institutions and artifacts effect us and our world. That not only can talk and act through that lens, but that we should and must.
