A foreign diplomat comes racing up the front drive of the White House with an urgent diplomatic cable and hammers on the door of the Oval Office. Trump shrugs and points to the sign on the door, which he has turned around to show CLOSED - it's quitting time!

Lord Hydronium posted:Jesus Christ, does he think being President is just a day job or something? To Trump, being President is being the Most Important Person in the World. The Most Important Person in the World doesn't need to do any more work than he feels necessary. Working tons of extra hours is for people who haven't made it, and by definition if he is the Most Important Person in the World, he's made it. It's important for him to delegate to his lessers, people who aren't important or successful enough to be the President. No, his job is to be Important and sign things and put his name on them and receive the adulation of the crowds, the people who want to Make America Great Again, with him. But they couldn't do it without him. More seriously, Trump is and always has only been interested in the prestige of the job and the networking aspects, which he's already trying to use to make himself money. He wants to be the head of state, not the head of government. Prism fucked around with this message at 00:20 on Nov 22, 2016 |

I doubt Trump will resign, as he loves the clout too much. I imagine he'll just delegate almost everything except those yuge decisions that he wants credit for making. Considering his administration is a rat's nest of old has-beens (Newt, Rudy) and formerly fringe racists (Bannon et al), I imagine it will be a vicious storm of infighting and backstabbing as everyone tries to curry favor with The Don and elevate their own careers. It would be amazing to see him resign in the fashion of Palin though. A bizarre, meandering speech that desperately tries to justify resigning when no real reason exists besides "The real money is in punditry."
