Has anybody figured out where the other nectars are for Oricorio? I found the pink nectar in front of the Royal Dome, and I'm assuming the yellow nectar is in the big dumb yellow field, but I haven't seen any others yet. edit: posted mere minutes before finding the red nectar in Ula'ula Meadow. Decidueye is pretty good, big attack stat and decent defense makes up for the low speed. Spirit Shackle is a great move just for the animation

Instead of just like gender and species or whatever

It's cool when my 3DS decided to randomly set itself to January 1st, 2011 at midnight and completely hose the game's time sensitive features. SuMo owns though. I'm loving the trials. The new Pokemon are sweet. The story is pretty interesting and I'm loving the characters. Even Hau isn't that annoying! Alola is great as a setting and it feels so alive. I hope the next game is along the lines of SuMo and not back to previous games with a more linear world and gyms. I wish that Oricorio didn't have a nigh unusable movepool because I like its design and concept. Why does it learn almost nothing until level 40??? Some of the new monsters have some very weird bad movesets and stats, but it's okay.

Space Cadet Omoly posted:Can anyone who's using wrestle cat and robin hoot confirm this as true? Are they murder machines like mermaid seal? I can personally confirm that Decidueye murders the ever-loving piss out of stuff, particularly because, as I mentioned earlier in the thread, weaknesses to Grass, Ghost, and/or Flying make up a plurality of the scripted content, and of the remainder, many have low enough defenses that they can be one-shot by a normal hit of Spirit Shackle or (late in the game) Leaf Blade. Of the single-type* bosses/trials found in the main game (sixteen if you count trials and their captains as one thing, though for some of the trainers, you need to see the teams they use in the post-game to even know they're specialists since they only have one or two the first time you fight them), only three, maybe four of them pose any real threat, Decidueye could realistically solo the rest of them. By the way, does anyone know if there's an Ice-type trainer, well anywhere in the cast? Just feels weird that the other seventeen types have cool, fresh NPCs representing them (even if a couple only appear/get battled in the post-game), but Ice is left in the cold. *They still have subtypes, naturally, which is how I Plucked Totem Kommo-o to death. eonwe posted:how is wishiwashi, I've had one sitting for a while and I don't particularly have a great water mon (poliwrath) Wishiwashi is very good, especially since you get Scald in the same area you can first get them, so there's no worries about an iffy early movepool (though Wishi learns some great stuff as it levels).

I just finished the game, and the story was… actually good??? And all the friends/rivals were cool characters??? The encounters were really well-designed throughout, and I had a blast with my team of Decidueye, Incineroar, Primarina, Kommo-o, Scizor, and Lycanroc-Moon. Playing without EXP share leaves you at a really good challenge level—I was mostly even with the regular trainers, a level or two behind many of the bosses, and then eventually ten levels behind the Elite Four.

So, me and some coworkers recently decided to have a Pokemon tournament, we never properly sorted out the rules but the basic idea was: No one allowed to progress past next Gym. All meet up, round robin battle, update a scoreboard. Rinse and repeat till everyone has all the badges. We were going to use GBA's, I was sourcing batteries for ruby / sapphire cartridges etc. Anyhow, since Sun and Moon are here (UK launch tomorrow), we thought we would do the same thing, but now the Gym mechanic is removed it kinda scuppers everything. Q1) Is there something in Sun and Moon that prevents progression (i.e. training Pokemon above a certain level) that would be good "breaks" in the game for us to have round robins in? I know about the trials, but do they actually limit game progress? Can we use that in place of gyms? We need something that levels progression, suggestions? Q2) I haven't played one since Ruby / Sapphire but was told today that if you battle each-other, all your Pokemon are set to the same level. I can't think why they would introduce that as a game mechanic, that seems mental. Please tell me I am smelling sweet bullshit. Ah the joys of returning to something you have't touched for ten years and then finding it's all changed.

The game has a few good benchmarks; Islands, Trials, and Totems. Islands are just what they sound like. You visit 4 different islands over the course of the game, meaning you could just say "stop once the game takes you to [island #2, 3, 4]". Trials are a combination of gyms and minigames. Some don't have any combat, some are only combat. "Stop once you beat the Fire trial". Totems are special boss battle pokemon, most of which are attached to like-typed Trials. There's four of these. "Stop once you battle the second Totem pokemon".

This allows people to have fair fight without forcing everyone to grind to level 100 for extra stats. But if the pokemon are below level 50, they won't have their level changed.
