Well I just switched over the phone. Only a 15 minute wait time. I'm gonna have to buy out ~$187 of my contract but absolutely worth it since I was getting 600MB for the same price before.

Carrier offers legitimately affordable plan, lineup down the entire mall. I guess Rogers and Bell were sick of Fido/Virgin bleeding customers to Public?

I ported to PM mid-billing cycle and just got my "last Fido bill" email. It's $-31.93. Do they owe me money?

I was on month-to-month post-pay though. Was my monthly bill actually extra usage from previous month plus next month's services? I'm waiting for Fido customer service to call me back "between 37 and 50 minutes," I guess current customers have priority now.

I bought a refurbed Verizon Galaxy S5 off of amazon.ca, those fuckers lied to me and said it would come unlocked (it didn't), I brought it to a local cellphone store and they said they couldn't get it unlocked, but they actually like half unlocked it... I can text and call but no data. Does anyone know if its possible for me to get data on this phone (I'm with Bell) and how to do it?

If you go into Settings > Mobile Networks > APN, you should be able to add it in. Google says you should add the following for the APN: pda.bell.ca http://support.bell.ca/Mobility/Smartphones_and_mobile_internet/How_to_configure_my_Google_Nexus_One_for_the_Bell_Mobility_HSPA_network

The Verizon S5 only supports one of Bell's LTE bands, not both. If you can get data working it's going to be crap. Probably something you should have looked up before you bought the phone.

It's a Verizon phone so maybe it's set to only use CDMA/EVDO or whatever Verizon uses. on the keypad try typing #*#4636#*#*, go to phone information, then scroll down and set preferred network type to LTE only or LTE preferred. Maybe that'll work. I'm out of ideas otherwise. You'll get an LTE icon on your signal strength, but no data unless you APNs are set correctly.

I was writing an email just now about The Day The Big Three Competed and my phone auto corrected Canadian telecom to Canadian telecon. That's it. I just found that funny.
