isn't it also disallowed? like that ever stops anyone, but still
e: oh, they're going from an early prototype to a better prototype. which I guess is...sort of following the rules?

if you were enough of a financial wizard that you could predict exactly how much money you would need to prototype, find suppliers, and produce a final product AND enough of a production wizard that you knew exactly how much time and how many resources it would take you to make a functioning final prototype, you wouldn't be on kickstarter

Fidget Cube update:

I bet someone $20 I could get a Chinese knockoff before backers got theirs. So I ordered one on ebay on November 17 and it arrived November 30th, $6.50 us and free shipping.

Now the cost for the actual cube was $14 or $19 during the Kickstarter and $25 retail. Also none of the backer rewards have shipped or arrived yet, though they were just promised to arrive "December before Christmas" so they're not late.

Anyway the thing I got looks and functions identically and the little instruction sheet says "Fidget Cube" on it. And I'll be ahead $14 soon.

pebble is going to be bought for pennies by fitbit. all the kickparpers who pledged for the rushed pebble 2 and especially the weird gps cube thing are probably screwed.

since this means no support for older models and removal of pebble app from the appstore, i too have owned myself for having supported them in their first 2 kickstarters.

the entire show is premised on its SNL-like show being really dumb and juvenile and uninspired, so it's probably even funnier if you don't like snl. also, like most NBC sitcoms, 30 rock doesn't really find its legs until season 2. it's only lightly serialized, so you don't have to worry about skipping ahead a bit. watch Fireworks and MILF Island and if you're into those, you'll like the series. 30 rock is my favorite show ever ever ever
