Yet where is that woman now? Tell me, in what heave does she reside? None of them. Because no God bothered to listen or care. If that is what you think it means to be a God, then you and all your teachings are welcome to do as that poor women did. And vanish from these realms forever.

Wonder how the religious right will take this, now that I think about it.

People in the cops in the beat threads used to say something along the lines that officers weren't required to submit body cam footage because it was a 4th amendment violation if it incriminated them. Not sure the exact legal argument because those threads are lost to time and full of trash but there was never a solution on what to do next, just that I guess we can't do anything so stop bitching.

If he came out and said it, it would prove that our democracy is a sham but would also give us quislings that we can associate with Putin, fight, purge out of our system, fix, and eventually put him on the defensive. Clinton won't bother. I feel she's basically said "gently caress it."

The only way Clinton wins at this point is if Trump releases his electoral votes (LOL) or we get enough faithless electors (LOL!!!!1111).

I remember back when that Republican election commissioner in Wisconsin found a bunch of votes, just enough to flip a judicial election, and was already caught in an ethics scandal while keeping everything in unsecured excel documents. I should amend that for Putin and other Russian intelligentsia like Dugin, their reason to undermine Western democracy is to show how useless it's for their own people as well. Their goal is a return to Orthodox-centered Tsardom.

But you're right, I don't think a unified Russia will survive past Putin.

I already posted in the other trumpy thread, but who cares this should be posted in every thread on the forums. Trump just loving killed climate research with a massive cut to NASA. I can't overstate how big of a deal this is. It's unbelievably hostile to the scientific community. Study of the climate will be forever set back.

quote:

Trump to scrap Nasa climate research in crackdown on ‘politicized science’

Donald Trump is poised to eliminate all climate change research conducted by Nasa as part of a crackdown on “politicized science”, his senior adviser on issues relating to the space agency has said.

Nasa’s Earth science division is set to be stripped of funding in favor of exploration of deep space, with the president-elect having set a goal during the campaign to explore the entire solar system by the end of the century.

This would mean the elimination of Nasa’s world-renowned research into temperature, ice, clouds and other climate phenomena. Nasa’s network of satellites provide a wealth of information on climate change, with the Earth science division’s budget set to grow to $2bn next year. By comparison, space exploration has been scaled back somewhat, with a proposed budget of $2.8bn in 2017.

Not just the U.S. Eastern Europe is terrified of a resurgent Russia, because Putin et al are believers that Russia should have buffer states against the West, not just against military invasion but cultural, too.

Putin is 64 years old. If you go by old Soviet premiers, he's got about at least 10 years left in him. Gorbachev is still alive at 85 and still active in politics, just so you know. What we probably should look at is Hosni Mubarak, who is 88 and was 83 when he got deposed in Egypt. That would give us at least another 20 years of Putin, barring something drastic happening to Russia.
