 I've never seen it, but i've heard the uncut version explains the point of the Balarians better. Implicating that they are controlling Kalgon's men to doing stupid stuff.

Really? I always got the impression that the entire Balarian thing was filmed after the fact and spliced in, as a desperate attempt to add sex appeal and pad the runtime. It would explain their total disconnectedness from the entire rest of the plot...
