If I remember correctly from the old thread. Rosa is currently 33. Rudolf is 40, Eva is 50 and Krauss is 52. Which means that Rosa's siblings were way older then her, at the same time as being cruel to her.

I didn't find it particularly monstrous? Obviously it left Rosa pretty hosed up, but extremely unhealthy family dynamics and people being asses to each other don't seem out of the norm to me. But maybe that's my own bias...

Not to say that all victims are destined to take on that role themselves, but in my experience abuse leaves an indelible mark on not only how you perceive the world, but also how you cope with stress. Some people release that stress through tormenting someone who cannot fight back. Basically all the adults in this game have a poo poo load to answer for, and Kinzo above all.

Adding to what POOL IS CLOSED has said, another reason why Rosa grew up so drat abused is that she was born into a hosed up-yet-rich family, while her siblings (who are 20 years older than her and Machiavellian shits) automatically hate her on principle for being a potential threat to their share of the inheritance. They aren't going to be the kind and compassionate family a little kid needs to grow up around.

When the games were still coming out, there were real long discussions on the ages of the adults. Ryukishi never put out official ages, but he definitely had an order in mind that can be picked up on from a few different things. In general the age order is typically accepted as Krauss, Natsuhi, Hideyoshi and Eva being somewhere in their early to mid 50s, Rudolf and Kyrie are in their mid-40s and Rosa is early to mid 30s.

I thought I experienced a very tragic end in Lambda's game, but this one is... exceptionally horrible. I can't say I don't understand why you're hugging your knees and closing up your heart. If you meet a fate like that a few more times, it'll take a lot less than a hundred years to kill your heart. A weak point that almost looks like she wanted you to take advantage of it. Though, I don't know if it's a trap or if she's testing us. Anyway, don't surrender. Don't stop thinking. Don't deny any possibility. As long as you continue to hold the will to fight, Beato will not win. What's the most important element in defense during a witch's battle? Rather than trying to win, try not to lose. If accepting her means your defeat, then you definitely mustn't accept her. Making you accept witches. Which means Bern is scissors. Well, maybe that doesn't matter. Even though my paper loses to Bern's scissors, if I was a sheet of super-paper, which is way more awesome than normal paper, I could beat even scissors, right?!  It looks like you've regained a bit of your color. That Beato, she's having fun torturing some piece called Rosa. At a glance, you'd think she has really nasty tastes, right? Wrong. She's just killing time, hoping that you'll stand back up and return. It's a move to fire up your righteous indignation by intentionally doing something detestable. Ah man, I hate kids like that! Anyway, I'll head on back. Ah! Don't tell anyone about me helping you out just a little bit! I mean, it's not like I helped you because I wanted to save you, okay?! I, the strongest witch in the universe, had my throne stolen away when I lost to Bern! At this point, it should be clear that Bernkastel and Lambdadelta are returning characters from Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni....sort of. When I get back home from work I'll put together a quick explained on these two, in as much as what you would come to know of them from reading Higurashi. They're basically the only direct point on connection between the two works.

Nobody ever stayed on Jessica's personal room key when talking about that mystery, so it's probably that. After that, it's pretty simple to snag a master key from Kumasawa. Remember - they let the culprit in, so there's no need to have it when entering.

After reading the new profiles, it seems like "furniture" might refer to... some type of golem? In a fantastical sense, sure, but I suppose in the gritty, real world sense it could be that the servants are brainwashed from a young age to believe in witches and act in certain ways.

It's a known thing that Ryukishi has less time to write the even numbered episodes (2, 4, 6) due to the schedule of Comikets, and so they end up being counterintuitively longer and less tightly edited. Still, some really memorable scenes here, and you all gave me some great laughs at the Lightsaber scene. I'll have you know I drove 30 minutes off of a campsite without wifi for 2 reasons: Coffee and to troll the hell out of Resurgam. Good times. Manga episode 2! Episode 1 was drawn by Kei Natsumi, but EP2 is drawn instead by Jirō Suzuki, who was also responsible for one episode of the Higurashi manga. I like Natsumi's art better, but both get into a good groove eventually.
