Alder posted:New manga I picked up based off a novel: I Sold Off My Lifespan, For 10,000 Yen A Year After reading those manga chapters I looked up the novel translation, and I'm at the part where he's about meet Himeno. I'm expecting a train wreck, because 1. Himeno is obviously working as a prostitute and 2. she seemed to not be very enthusiastic about meeting with the protagonist again (with the "but no alcohol" thing probably meaning "but not as a date"), but he was too excited to take notice. edit: Finished the novel, it was a really sweet story. edit2: I also read another story by the same guy called "Starting Over." At least it's on a faster pace than Girl Friends so far. Speaking of misunderstandings, time for Citruschat: Latest storyline was 2 chapters long, the biggest drama resolved without any misunderstandings, there was no overreactions or spitefulness, and our protagonists actually talked things out properly without much prompting. Or to put it another way, chapter 24 of noted soap-manga Citrus featuring legendary confusing abused rear end in a top hat Mei had our main couple show the best communication and support of any romance manga I read this week.  I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

One of the covers had Wagner in an outfit that was kinda  I always thought that for these manga they never could have the girl appear to be falling in love with any one guy because then it would ruin the reverse harem thing.

Take Love Hina as an example; there was never any doubt that Naru would be the winner. Is there no obvious winner guy in most reverse harems? I'm familiar with a number of shoujo love triangle manga (which also usually have a color-coded obvious winner), but haven't read many actual reverse harem manga.

I think the premise is "teenagers are terrible at communication" and that their problems were caused more by stupidity than by malice. Except for Fujiwara. She's the smartest of the bunch.
