in order to control the volume you have to tap the air pod, wait for your music to pause, tell siri to increase the volume and wait for siri to finish and have the song resume playing

repeat until you get the volume to the level you want

For example, if you want to raise the volume, you have to double-tap one of the AirPods, which activates Siri and pauses your music. Then you have to tell Siri to raise the volume. Then your music starts playing again. It's an awkward solution at best, especially when the wired EarPods that come with the iPhone have those handy buttons for audio controls.

I use wireless headphones and I would say I reach to my pocket to change the volume about half the time. I don't feel like it's any less convenient than reaching up to my head.

do you actually take it out of your pocket and adjust the volume or reach into your pocket so you look like you're playing with yourself

either way it's less convenient than using the remote on the cord was in the past so it's a step backward

my wireless headphones have gesture controls so I can adjust the volume by swiping my finger clockwise or other on the right headphone cup just like the original iPod which is cool
