Today is 72F/22C and very sunny. People are wearing their thick coats and scarves, of course, because it's "winter" here in Shenzhen. I bought an iced tea at a tea shop and people were looking at me like I was crazy for drinking it in this icy tundra. The best part about all of this that all these coat-havers will never agree with you that it's not cold, while their faces are covered in sweat from being hot as hell in their stupid jackets. This one guy was actually dripping sweat onto the ground when he bent over to check his shopping bag. I even saw a fat white neckbeard wearing a thick coat while I was going home. It was 65F/18C last night and the metro train had the heat blasting. BRRRRRRR. Wumao Girl is gone. At 4pm yesterday she said I was her destiny and every woman knows in her heart when she meets the man of her destiny. I told her to calm down. At 5pm she asked for my phone number and I said I didn't know it. She tried to argue with me about it, saying all her friends gave her their phone numbers, so I must be really cruel to not even be able to give her my phone number. Even my boss has called me like once since I've been here because we do most of our communication on Wechat, and I talk to my family and friends on Skype for free or on Facebook. She refused to accept this. At 8pm she messaged me to tell me she is "leaving" me because I must not love her at all because I can't give her my phone number. LMAO, I've known this girl a week. The one constant about her has been her moods go from one extreme to the other multiple times per day, and whenever she wants something it immediately becomes all about her and nobody and nothing else matters. The day of our date on Saturday she tried to suddenly reschedule because her friend asked her to go shopping and in her words "this is really important to me and you should understand." Basically, a perfect example of a Chinese Little Empress. I had predicted (and told her) that she would be the one to end things with me when her mood swings to some other direction, so I reminded her of this, told her the world doesn't revolve around her moods, and she said good bye and I deleted her. She spent the next several hours trying to re-add me and sending those 50-character-limit messages asking for forgiveness. Oh well. At least she can't show up at my door unannounced.

All this talk about Chinese people being cold at 22°C meanwhile here I am living in northern England and I swear the melting point of English people must be around 25°C which is like perfect for me. Anything above 10/15 warrant the AC being on full blast and people walk around barely covered even now when it's 7 out with the coldest wind known to man. I suspect everyone is shitfaced all the time to endure that.

He was sweating and was clearly drunk. He stood up from his table and took a seat beside me, embracing me with one arm while the other pinched the cigarette from his lips and placed the moist butt in my mouth. He smiled and laughed and said, "You are my foreign friend." Then he stood up and sauntered away. It was a little gross so I just spit it out, bad for healthy and all that.

While there's probably lots of tales of non-Chinese (or even non-Chinese looking) people living in China, what's the experience for foreign born and raised Asians going to the China and living there? I've had experience in a study abroad where a Chinese student said "You look like us" as though they didn't think there'd be an Asian (I'm half-Chinese and half-Filipino) amongst a group of, largely white, Americans and whose Chinese was probably more broken than their English.
