wolrah posted:Kinda. I was just thinking how that all worked, cool concept hosting the show in a different location every week but the workload it puts on the traveling crew. International flights, hotels, hire cars, meals all that jazz once a week for 3 months. Probably alright for the presenters flying business or first and has PA sorting all the paperwork and running about for them but as someone that has to do that sort of travel for work I can seriously see that getting old quick.

It's just different names for different properties of the same gun. Hopefully this makes it clear as mud. Anyway does anyone else think like me that the reason there are not more films taking place in the host country is because they are filming those segments after they film the tent segment? djdanno13 fucked around with this message at 16:05 on Nov 28, 2016 |

I'm pretty sure it was like the Young Ones and some sort of weird budget thing. Top Gear inserted interviews with celebs to be classified as an entertainment show and not just an educational/informational show. The Young Ones always had a musical act in every episode so they could be classified as a variety show rather than a comedy and thus get a bigger budget. I actually enjoyed this episode. I think the military thing was a pretty fun mockery of how your average man thinks he would be an ultra-competent badass when put into a situation like that, and the reality that they just bumbled around and got killed over and over. It dragged on a bit, but I think the underlying punchline was solid. The thing that detracts for me is the cheeky segment names (conversation street, celebrity brain crash, etc). They were funny the first time as a "chat show segment names are dumb" kinda thing, but they're dumb as actual regular names.

I never expected them to keep that celebrity thing going. It was funny as a first episode joke. Second episode was "Are they seriously doing this joke again?" If they do it again, I don't know.

If they knew they were going to stick with it they should have pre-taped 12 episodes worth of Jeremy Renner dying each time they try to bring him on.

And then after the applause tell Renner oh sorry the producer just cancelled this segment to pursue other creative outlets but thanks so much for your hard work goodbye now.

They need like a aerial view or a minimap on the track parts because to me it's always been just a series of unconnected shots and I have no idea what turns into what or anything

It helped a bunch.

Worst thing about the new track is all the buildings in the middle of it so you cannot get a panning shot of the entire track, you get a huge hangar just sitting in the middle of it. If it was wide open it would be so much better to visualize. I am guessing Lotus had nothing to do with this track?

The new track seems kind of boring to drive seeing as how there's very little elevation change, though that was the same problem with the old one (except doubly so I imagine).

Rated PG-34 posted:The new track seems kind of boring to drive seeing as how there's very little elevation change, though that was the same problem with the old one (except doubly so I imagine). The lack of elevation change may be necessary, as some of those cars are drat low to the ground and would scrape at speed. Remember the sparks from the P1 scraping the ground on tgat little incline in ep1? How much harder would it be to get test cars if that kind of damage was a constant threat. If anything, this one seems more fun/demanding given how narrow and tight it is in spots.

Also if they do the mini map thing, they actually have to show the whole lap which is usually boring (otherwise the edits would be obvious.) What we see is just the interesting bits with the boring parts of the track cut out. The lap is not a scientific test. It's a bit like the rest of the show. It's there for them to bicker about what car is better.
