That was the extremely brief period where my dad was into hockey.

Speaking of historic ballers, here's a cool thing the Pistons are doing.

I grew up in Chicago and the first Bulls Championship was when I was 9 and the last one in 98 was when I was 16. It was the best location in the world for basketball in maybe the biggest Era in the sport during the absolute peak years in a adolescent's development that Professional Sports Means Everything.

So lol to everyone one else in the world.

I'm optimistic about them moving into Detroit but I'll always miss the palace, I think.

Revelry in the Dark

I've watched parts of old games before, and it's amazing at how different everything is compared to now. for one, the pace of the game was so slow, how could anyone watch (for reference, I was born during Game 4 of the 96 Finals) but it's cool to learn the history of the game. Jordan could play today for sure

AD's shot selection development has gone the opposite way of most players. Typically, you see guys come in and shoot from all over until they find their money makers. Here's Davis:

Yeah I'm a kid.

Actually as a Canadian dude (who didn't live in Toronto or Vancouver) it was a miracle that my dad watched the NBA at all in the 90's, he was an early adapter. I didn't start following it hardcore till I was in university tbh, but it was on consistently enough in the living room as a kid that I can get nostalgic for garbage 90's basketball and get hype for the NBC theme.

BJ Armstrong? Just guessing from his size.

Also did you catch that commentary at the end? "An NBA Finals record 10 three pointers by the Chicago Bulls!" Times have changed.

When I was 17, my father was so stupid, I didn't want to be seen with him in public. When I was 24, I was amazed at how much the old man had learned in just 7 years.
Having lived through the Bulls wins it is really weird to see the how little of the villainy they had at the time ended up going forward.

The Rockets title runs are what people really are missing and are must viewing for anyone who thinks people exaggerated Hakeem because naw it's true as gently caress.

The team around Hakeem for the first run is the definition of mediocre. It's funny though because it is 100% the proto-version of the Dwight Magic teams with four shooters and Dwight grabbing infinity rebounds. Mario Ellie, Vernon Maxwell, and young Bob Horry were not a core that should have won a ring that year...but Hakeem

Probably because that didn't happen. They had the same team minus Vernon "Herpes" Maxwell and plus Chucky Brown the next year. They got swept by the Sonics, who were on their way to the finals, and brought in Barkley the next summer cause it was clear they were no longer on the Sonics/Jazz/Spurs tier.
