The whole endevour requires me to be lax and reading my cellphone. A life time of martial arts training means squatting to take a poo poo is no challenge at all, despite never having done it before. I still can't comfortably squat on the sidewalk while perusing my smartphone, but that's exactly a goal I'm working towards. Edit: I saw an article on CNN stating that Singapore was on top with students being "smart." Are these things determined by how well people do on standardized tests? Does anyone know if Singapore does the whole "let's turn our kids in to mindless, testing-taking drones" approach to education? mrbotus fucked around with this message at 13:47 on Dec 6, 2016 |

I also think they have a really good and unique math education system? I'm not totally sure though.

It helps that a lot of the poorer workers can't afford to live in Singapore and commute every day from Johor, meaning they aren't counted in the official statistics. Also from what I've heard from my girlfriend the school system is insanely competitive, and not in a healthy way at all. Reminds me of what someone posted about Hong Kong schools; they might not be bad but like hell would I like to go to one myself. e: they do have a lot of kids that get into the world's top schools relative to their population, and they tend to do well there when they do, so clearly they must be doing at least something right though Private Speech fucked around with this message at 14:30 on Dec 6, 2016 |

china ranks highly on the PISA too, because they only administer the test in a few Shanghai schools and mark the results as China (Shanghai). Predictably, more irresponsible media will drop those parentheses.

So we think that of course everyone is going to adopt the most logical, reasonable, and efficient practices (ie the ones I'm familiar with). That's the normal way to conduct business. Go to the basement floor of any apartment building and you'll find those, except without windows as they're underground. And kitchens instead of bathrooms (they're communal at the end of the hall). To be fair they look like an ideal solution for student housing (the a month underground holes, not this hilariously expensive fake-luxury room), but I'm sure they'd be illegal in the EU.

Squatting is an exercise that white people do all the time. I've never heard of anyone not being able to do that.

Get to the gym and do some lifting and squatting becomes fun.

How to do a flat footed squat: From standing make your butt go very close to the ground A little closer than that Ok great you are now squatting flat footedly Oh does it feel like you are tipping backwards? Open your legs more so your fat slobby gut can spill out between them

What does a non squatter even look like? I'm a fatty, but I used to do weight-lifting. I can do squat almost all the way to the ground, but if I try to put my butt on my heels my heels raise a bit. I am way out of practice, though.

bamhand posted:I'm Chinese and getting close a to a 400 pound rear end to grass squat. Is this why China has good weight lifters? Serious answer it's because they identify thousands of kids with potential talent, train them hard from a young age, and get a handful of Olympians from the ones that don't break. In the US a kid with a genetic gift for weightlifting is more likely going to end up playing football instead.

heels on floor squat is definitely harder for most people to do As sheep goats says if you have a belly, spread wider. I also suggest thinking of your coxyx and where it's pointing. If you find it hard to balance after all that try resting your armpits on your kneecaps for stability.
