Tatum Girlparts posted:why do you feel it was part of some kind of conspiracy vs just a problem in the system or whatever, especially if your area still went Sanders? It wasn't "some kind of conspiracy", it was actual directives from DNC leadership to push the election towards the favored candidate. This isn't a matter of speculation, it's a matter of historical record. Where is this even coming from, Tatum? We argued at the time whether or not this was morally correct, but even before the DNC hacks most of us at least had the decency to agree that it was occurring. We KNOW it was occurring now. This isn't a matter for debate. FWIW I (still) don't think it impacted the results of the election besides maybe the margins Hillary won by but it's pretty willfully ignorant to deny that some shady business going on. I don't think it's possible to claim that the Democratic primary was unbiased when there were super delegates pledging votes before the first primary was held, and the media would show bar graphs showing one candidate with a huge lead over the other because of pledged super delegates. I don't think that means it was rigged, but it's undeniable that there were a lot of thumbs on the scale. (USER WAS PUT ON PROBATION FOR THIS POST)

The better way is to say, hey now instead of having to sit on your rear end for 12 hours a day in your truck. You can sit on your rear end for 12 hours a day from the comfort of your home because we are going to implement a GMI and UHC with all the savings automation will give us.

Fulchrum posted:So you want progressives to try to ban progress? We could, but that still leaves the underlying problem that capitalism demands everyone be working all the time (assuming they're not a plutocrat of course) but also gives an edge to companies that lower worker pay and adopt technologies that reduce their workforce. Basically, we could ban self-driving cars, but we should really just cut to the chase and ban capitalism.

That's the best part. If you want to get a job and enjoy some supplementary income, you can! The important part is that you don't HAVE to.
