Awww. Dutch subs are still a thing? We continue to do paper cuts to the enemy. A supply line to Chunking is open, now I have to decide if I want to engage in another meat grinder of a battle there. These me would give me parity in the city, but no-where near the numbers I think I need to take it. We hit the enemy here as well. A mixed day, with some good results in China.

What do major rail lines look like on the map? Because if they look like what I think do then that base directly south of Kweiyang is the endpoint of one. Also, instead of attacking Chunking with those forces you would be better served by taking the bases around Chunking. Chengdu especially as it is one of the bases that generate resources as well as being point that destroyed Chinese units can respawn in. At least I think so, if not someone please correct cause those would be pretty important things to know when deciding where to throw your forces.

We bring down a Liberator for the cost of a Zero. The Chinese panic at the new supply line, and throw away more men. Part of me wants to march those thousands of men into Chunking, but another part of me knows I need to finish Hankow first. We confirm a kill from June.

Today we bring down a B-17. We can't bag a Liberator as well though. We hit the enemy again here. Plans are afoot to invade Darwin, but we are in a lag time at the moment. Once the carriers are repaired, we will see more action! The ship wounded by that Dutch sub sinks.

Can someone explain what "runway hits" mean in the context of the game? Does grey have to expend supply to repair the runway in order to fly planes? What is the effect of these daily bombing runs?

Also, is it worth it using all the saved politicl points to replace leaders and get units or that require a lot more micro'ing than is really worth it with the game? Also congrats, even on a slow day with gradually getting the carriers up and going and taking down a heavy bomber.

What is the effect of these daily bombing runs? Hitting a runway mirrors the effects that would happen irl. You have to spend supplies to fix it and, while damaged, reduces the maximum number of planes that can take off/use that airfield. Not sure if it models higher operational losses due to cratering/taxiing problems and so on due to the bombing. Also, if im not mistaken, airfields take priority over forts, so its a good way to delay fort/defensive buildups.

Yes it is worth using to change leaders where combat is or will happen. It is actually a pretty simple thing to do in the UI and isn't that point intensive usually. I don't go around and replace every commander or anything, just the important ones. The big point sinks are from shifting units to get them out from restricted commands. In the game the US mainland had a whole bunch of Army divisions and squadrons sitting around the mainland that can't leave unless you use a giant was of points to buy them.

Here is your daily bomber report. We continue to grind here. Things are plodding along. These ships will escort the carriers back down to Rabaul. I'll fix up the minor damage first.
