I bought those honeywell ear protection muffs that have a line-in, and two microphones. You can leave them off and get total silence, or even amplify your surroundings, but they cut off when they hear a loud noise, like a gunshot. A ton of people had them while I was in the Army. They're pretty baller, and the fact that I can amplify a whisper makes me less paranoid about wearing ear protection while working on my car in the street (lot of meth heads / homeless people walking by 24/7) E: https://www.amazon.com/Howard-Leight-Amplification-Electronic-R-01526/dp/B001T7QJ9O Queen_Combat fucked around with this message at 20:51 on Dec 3, 2016 |

I still use ear protection all day and the real muffs when I'm using my air hammer.

I wear mine when doing basically anything that might even be slightly noisy around the house/yard/garage.

Looks like a Porsche 917 20 Can-Am car based of the turbo plumbing in the rear. H12 1000HP go kart indeed.

I have no idea how those dudes managed to keep the cars under control. lovely tires (compared to today), rudimentary aero, and way too much horsepower. Although I suppose they weren't as bad as the 30s racers where guys were dying every other race.

Dang engine weighs nearly as much as the chassis. Definitely took some trans tunnel surgery to get that massive truck tranny to fit. Where the hell did the shifter end up? I was thinking a 4BT would be an interesting replacement in an RX (and about as much HP...) - I'm amazed that the 6BT fit even with the rad in the hatch.

Sometimes there's also a time limit on when it crosses back into stupid. Jumping your fan with a paperclip just to get home? Stupid but works, therefore not stupid. Leaving it for a month? Stupid, works, but still loving stupid.

What I dig is it looks like it only took one or two takes to get their stunts in.. it's not like a Ken Block video where the stuff he's driving on is pitch black from previous attempts. Granted their driving isn't as elaborate and it really doesn't matter as long as the video is cool, but I appreciate the "authenticity."
