What would Sal's ironic punishment be? Stuck on the Stern show for eternity, but all they do is bust Sal's balls and the only callers are the Emotional Friend and Ace Frehly, but Ace only wants to talk to Richard ?

Thanks so much, guys, I've been going through a lot of this material last night and all day today. The Zero Point Zero bit absolutely killed me, as did the Derek From Texas one. I'm about to check out some stuff w/ Stern's parents. The only bit that left me a bit cold was the Yucko vs. Artie thing, with Yucko just repeatedly calling Artie fat and Artie going on about how he makes 80 grand a gig.

Gary's love tape was also an amazing listen. Thanks again everyone!

The Daniel Carver roast isn't funny, but it's worth watching because everybody bombs. The whole idea of a roast is that you (in theory) like the person you're roasting. Also, Daniel could not be unsettled -- he just took the abuse and probably gave as good as he got.

You didn't Yucko was funny? What makes it funny for me is he's having a serious argument with a clown. Someone that blows a horn after every comeback. Two mean comedians having a argument is funnier to me than insulting a quadriplegic midget. Eric segments are the one thing on Howard that I never got.

Did you see Artie making fun of Gary's pitch?

I watched it late last night so maybe I was just burned out! I'm usually ok with watching Artie get into fights with people, I really liked when he got into it with Dice. Maybe I'll throw on some more Yucko later and check it out.

The Yucko vs Artie is entertaining, but that is the worst of Artie's weird insecurity where he boasts about his success to a struggling comic he is mad at. The only funny part of that was the story of Yucko making fun of Gary's pitch until Gary calls and cusses him out with neither one knowing who the other is. "The only thing you can throw is your mother into a nursing home."

Yeah that part was pretty funny, actually. I think you hit the nail on the head about what I didn't like about the Yucko bit. When Artie gets like that it's not really a good look for him, he sometimes stops telling jokes and goofing on people and just acts like an rear end in a top hat.

On the other hand, some guy on the bus is right too in that there's no way to justify laughing at the Eric the Actor bits and not at the Yucko one because "artie's being mean" in the latter.

You have to consider that the guy he's being an rear end in a top hat to is someone that does things like this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BztRYteQ1gI

and makes 8,000 jokes about Artie's dad dying as he said in the Artie vs Yucko video.

It's two complete assholes insulting each other with no limits where you don't have to feel sorry for either one. I feel too bad for Eric, especially now.

Howard: "Yucko's like General Motors. He needs a bailout right now."
Artie: "Yeah, he's like General Motors. He produces a poo poo product."
Yucko: "That one stung a little bit, dumbass."

At the risk of being pedantic, he wasn't quad or even paraplegic.

He was club-fuckin-footed, ya asswipe!

Anyway, some of Artie's jabs aside, they never really made that much fun of Eric's disability, moreso they were usually insulting him because he was a terrible person who constantly had terrible and/or stupid ideas. Howard said many times he loved him and I believe that.

If you hate Jason and think he doesn't get enough poo poo on the show (he doesn't) then take comfort in knowing his mom belittles him at basically every turn. That hour they spent going over how his mom takes potshots at him whenever they talk is the best. He's a weasely piece of poo poo but he gets what's coming to him off the air.

I honestly can't remember why they first thought he said 'ack ack', probably from him starting to say some word, like 'actually', but he would stop of course.

The beauty of it all is they got him on tape saying 'I do not say "ack ack"!', and then they used THAT clip of him going forward, instead of the Mars Attacks one.

EDIT: I think I'm just going to refer to that movie as 'Mars Ackacks!' now. :smug:
