If you are going to pick up a Marill via island scan, it will spawn in the grass. Don't be like me and think you need to surf in a specific place just because you got very unlucky with the grass early on. You could find it in the very first brush you come across.

What nature does Guzzlord want? I'm stumped. He looks like he's trying to be Blissey v2, but the difference is Blissey actually has decent special defense, which is why you run Bold with her. Adamant? Modest? Say who cares and go Quiet or Brave? That 43 speed isn't doing him any favors either.

OK! My morning Beast Ball hunt was successful. I got a Corsola and a Klefki in their nice new Beast Ball homes. Corsola only took me one Beast Ball. Klefki was more like 10 but whatever. I got 'em! I can breed them for folks in exchange for YOUR Beast Ball (and maybe Apricorn Ball) Pokes! EDIT: Checking the sheet, it's criminal that no one has caught a Luvdisc in a Love Ball! I might go do that myself... They're a swarm Pokemon in HG/SS, which is a pain in the rear end, anyway. Silver Falcon fucked around with this message at 15:54 on Dec 9, 2016 |

Let's assume I really wanted to make a monotype doubles team and my favorite type happened to also be the shittiest defensive typing. How would one ideally go about this? Here's what I've come up with so far: Ninetales @ Icy Rock Ability: Snow Warning EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spd Timid Nature - Aurora Veil - Protect - Blizzard - Moonblast Sandslash @ Light Clay Ability: Slush Rush EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature - Aurora Veil - Iron Head - Icicle Crash/Icicle Spear - Earthquake Weavile @ Life Orb Ability: Pressure EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant Nature? - Knock Off - Icicle Crash/Pursuit - Ice Shard - Low Kick Glalie @ Glalitite Ability: Ice Body EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant Nature - Explosion - Return/Giga Impact - Protect - Crunch Lapras @ Leftovers Ability: Water Absorb EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD Bold Nature - Perish Song - Protect - Freeze-Dry - Hydro Pump Ninetales/Sandslash is a decent opener, I think, especially since Sandslash will outspeed Scarf Garchomp and literally anything with no speed boost, but all their STABS are resisted by Fire and Steel types and it kinda sucks. They both have Aurora Veil since I'd definitely get murdered if I couldn't get it off in round one. Weavile is an actual good glass cannon and revenge killer, though I'm not sure what the current ideal build is. Glalie is the only available Mega Evolution and I don't know if it has any viability outside of being a suicide bomber. Lapras is about the bulkiest Ice type there is, and I guess Perish Song would be a nasty followup if Glalie actually manages to explode. I guess Glalie wouldn't be permitted in the current VGC, but I'm sure it'll get its day. I'm also not sure how to round off the team, since Ice types have terrible offensive coverage. Maybe Froslass, since it learns Thunderbolt and gets a handful of status moves?

Guzzlord has an awful stat spread, and really bad defensive typing (double fairy weakness = bad times). Really the only thing it has going for it is a good design.

Seems like Guzzlord would do okay by giving it a +Atk or +Sp.Atk nature with -Speed, invest EVs in Def and Sp.Def, then hand it an Assault Vest and a bunch of attacking moves and put it in Trick Room. That's just me theorizing though.

I'm really looking forward to the Bank update so I can bring my cool Dream Ball monsters, specially since now lovely boys can pass down their pokeballs too! There is no point to converting fancy beans to plain ones once you have a completely upgraded Pelago, other than enabling Mohn's addiction, right?

One fancy bean gives exactly as much bean time as 3 normal beans. Rainbow beans only give 6 times more, though, so don't put those in bean boxes unless it's really important for you to have them tick for more than 48 hours uninterrupted. Also rainbow beans boost affection crazy fast, so keep them on hand if that's a thing you ever want to do.

greatn posted:Just wondering, if everyone assumes marowak has lightning rod, do you even really need to have it? Sooooorta. It isn't just risk of your ruse being discovered, there's utility in just using Lightning Rod to absorb attacks against mediocre/bold opponents. It's like when I use Bronzong in Singles and always think for a second to give it Heatproof since no one will ever throw ground attacks at him anyway and using one deters ground attacks on other mons, but the utility of just saying gently caress it and switching in on a Lando you expect is throwing an EQ is a nice option to have even if it just results in you eating a u-turn sometimes.

While we're on the topic i just want to say that the poke pelago is a wonderful feature. After upgrading all the islands you'll basically never run out of beans, and a level three berry farm shits out 14 EV reducing berries per tree. It's so much better than grinding for reset bags
