Redkahina/philgraves et al are very invested in Assad being the only valid leader of Syria, and so ppg being there without the permission of the "government" is their new pet peeve

Edit: Disagree with Adam Curtis's argument that the decline of the left was caused by their strategies and culture, rather than the Reagan/Thatcher attacks on established power structures leading towards only cultural remnants. Listening to the whole interview felt like a nice little puzzle, on which I was given a warning of "Ok we Don't Necessarily Agree With Him on All counts" and I wasn't expecting ... those closing statements with the Syrian they so put that NPR-ish music over.

The Douthat episodes are stand outs, The Blob is pretty great, and I personally really liked Oaxaca Flocka Flame. Honestly you can't go wrong with most episodes. Some don't stand out as much, but they are all pretty entertaining.

After that, I recommend anything with Virgil Texas, the Ross Douthat readings, the James Adomian episode, and the Carl Diggler/Ron Fournier episode. At that point, I'd just go through chronologically. If you subscribe, you can listen to the excellent Caleb episodes. Love that boy.
