He's had the odd episode of red mist in the past but they seem to be diminishing over time. His performance yesterday was just outstanding after the Winterbottom incident. It was also hilarious to see Todd Kelly run himself into the wall on one of the rare days when his car was competitive.

I see they haven't backed down from the no-plat rule. Now to see if Billy Johnson gets the bump to Plat, if so he's gonna be out of a job, unless someone in WTSCC or elsewhere picks him up.

Have some Gibson noises (and some ligier visuals) Looks like they're testing their high-downforce package at sebring. I'm curious to see the high DF package of the Mazda and Caddy, as it looks like both of them showed off their daytona aero package. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orp_VeOE_Yo those liftoff crackles

Pretty big field for next week's pre-pre-roar group IMSA test. Should be our first performance comparison between Cadillac/Mazda, and the first look at the Multimatic-Riley P2. http://www.racer.com/images/2016/December_1/IMSA/2017_WeatherTech_Championship_December_Test_Provisional_Pre-Event_Entry_List.pdf

First batch of Dinner with Racers. Johnny O'Connell being smug that he's faster than everyone, John Eversley's time with John Paul Sr's team being paid min wage and then paid in small envelope in cash and Sr threatening and firing a mechanic for stealing money and almost putting a gun in said mechanics mouth in just the first 2 episodes.

Those two really highlight how much the styling of a car makes all the difference. Very plain liveries look boring on the old DPs, but because the car looks so much better they can get away with the same scheme looking a lot better overall.

Imo those AXR Caddies dont look good in the white liveries. WTR one looks amazing though. Also interesting to see all the prototypes sporting either their mid or high downforce package at Daytona though, as it's usually a no-dive-plane, super low drag circuit like Le Mans. I suppose it's test day and they're trying to suss out a lot of stuff with these brand new cars. Wonder if we'll see trap speeds or lap times from the test.

Real glad to see the Cadillac branding/design on the front behind the wheels and on the fin maintained. That's really a smart idea to bring their works teams together and manage their brand. Hope the final livery for the Mazda looks just as good too.

Best Prototype trap speeds from today: 10 WTR Cadillac DPi - 198.0 mph 31 AXR Cadillac DPi - 195.7 mph 5 AXR Cadillac DPi - 194.7 mph 90 VFR Riley LMP2 - 188.0 mph 55 Mazda DPi - 185.9 mph 1:38.766-1:41.715 separates the protos from that session http://results.imsa.com/ e: for reference, best race lap was 1:39.192 in the Honda-Ligier LMP2 last year, quali was wet so the times are useless. I'm not shocked there gonna be close if not at GTP speeds. They were talking how at Le Mans, P2 cars are going P1 08-09 speeds let alone the DPi's being a little bit faster than stock P2s.

Pole at LeMans in 2008 was 3:18. LMP2 pole this year was a 3:36. Hell, LMP2 pole was a couple of seconds quicker in 2008 than 2016 thanks to the Porsche Spyder Evos. The arse end of the LMP1 field in 2008 was doing those times but those were ancient Courage and Creation cars.
