City council finally told the taxi companies to gently caress off, allowing uber back in and releasing 222 new plates. It took 15 minutes to reach a cab company by phone, and then 60 minutes for the cab to actually arrive, when I called one for my friend last night. It was well before last call when I phoned, too, and I was looking for a cab to go from one end of downtown into the Beltline, not in some far-flung suburb, and the cab would've been able to get another fare 10 minutes later. The cab companies have made their bed and now they have to lie in it. If they're going to bitch about it now, I'll play the world's tiniest violin for them (when they finally loving show up).
