Probably, although part of the problem is that the D-league doesn't start until December so you can't exactly expect guys to sit around a month to be evaluated. I guess in theory they could move the d-league season up too.

At least with these new contract tools TO might be able to keep Lowry around. You hesitate signing a 30 year old to a 6 year deal, but if he splits this off season, things could get bad quickly.

Just basing it off of the last CBA, it may have the unintended affect of player movement for free agents or signed guys with leverage this offseason as guys push to end up where they want to be for that longer max.

The Raptors advantage is that there are not a lot of open landing spots for guards this offseason.
