I think they have to adapt up to Stain, they need a climax for the season and the internship arc/Hosu City/Stain showdown is the only one that would make sense.

That'd be a hell of a season-ending stinger. I dunno how you cram that in however- because if we're doing 13 episodes they have to cover nearly 40 chapters in the time they took to cover 21 chapters in the first season.

I remember the first season being advertised as HEY KIDS LOOK AT THE HERO SCHOOL, look at these cool folks in cool costumes, this is All Might and he has a swell catchphrase, this is our protagonist and he tries very hard. Not so much about terrorist attacks on the school and Shiragaki's creepy face, certainly not in the very first advertisement. We're gonna get Stain.
