I'm not one to shirk my civic duties but if I was summoned for jury duty I would have to honestly state my passionate position on jury nullification, ie, that I believe strongly in its use and will be educating and encouraging the other jurors to consider doing so. I don't think it would automatically disqualify me per se but it seems highly likely in most cases

They can ask me all about it if they care...i would for them to explain the concept to me inside the courtroom. I do take jury service seriously though regardless of my judicial kinks 10 criminal trials now down to just 1... Should be outta here within the hour!

i only got pulled in for jury duty once, in nyc (i got the summons immediately after i registered to vote and would get them multiple times a year, tho i could get out of them for 6 years afterward because i was already summoned, i guess nyc needs a lot of jurors). it was before i knew about the magic words and i was livin paycheck 2 paycheck, and i was young so i was scrambling for any sort of excuse not realizing that "im too poor to do this" would probably work. it was a civil trial for some guy who was suing a taxi driver for hitting him and i went aha! this is my chance, and i raised my hand when asked to say "um excuse me mr lawyer sir, i can't be unbiased, my girlfriend was just hit by a taxi" (sorta happened, not really my girlfriend and she was at fault). they made fun of me for such a flimsy excuse but let me go anyway. one of the lawyers had ridiculous hair, like little blonde ringlets moosed, piled up on top of his head.

that sucks mariana i got pulled for jury duty several times once in short frequencies i kept writing, if you can't provide for my disability, I won't go. Of course they were too cheap to do that so instead of summoning me, they kept waiving me but clerical error or something kept summoning me several times until I wrote a really angry response on the last slip I got in the mail, and then they stopped. I'm like, yea that's right, you motherfuckers, go ahead and save money.

well the woman sitting in front of me is hearing impaired and the guy to my left is drunk/strung out and keeps snorting and saying "fuuuuuckk" to himself every 5 mins. And both are still here and have been accommodated for! The intro video also touched on why this concept is important to receiving a fair trial (and was backed full of nice Massachusetts humblebrags) even tho these practices did not go into place until 1982. Basically what I'm trying to say is sorry about the state of flori-dada
