I'm surprised how far they took it, to be honest. It's not something you see in a lot of media, period. Despite the problems the game has, character stuff between the four main dudes is incredibly well done.

While I was running around and grinding out Gladio's survival ability, a conversation started up where Prompto asked if Cindy was single. It eventually took a turn to talking about how she puts up a tough front at which point Gladio is asked what he thought because he's a ladies' man. Gladio replies that he's interesting in trying to drop her guard, but they have more important things to do (like fishing, obviously). Another time when Gladio was absent, Prompto asked what Noctis thought Gladio was up to. Noctis replied "Probably picking up girls" to which Prompto exclaimed "Son of a bitch!" I got a good laugh out of that. These guys clearly aren't gay, but of course talking about women do much in the company of your closest guy friends means you totally want to play grabass with each other.

I'd hope they kept it in theme with the game and made the script like 20 minutes of 70's style cheesy sex metaphors and puns, all "you can work my engine's piston any time you want!" and "come in the garage and take a look at my muffler" but I'm sure it's all as low effort as her hair.

Because it looks about as big as I remember a few other mainline games being. VII and X particularly, but others had that going too.
