how does the scoring on this event work? I keep thinking I have the highest or second highest points and streak and then I get 4th or 5th. im sure the other idols have better stats than mine but what points are they showing on the first screen then

Yeah, but the scouting tickets and event SR's can still turn into gems and SR seals (for more gems). I don't spend more than my free daily gem though.

I mean, you still play the event, you just don't burn gems for LP. You can get the gems up to 47500 with no gems spent, easy, and past that there aren't any until 62500, which would mean some 3-8 or more extra gems depending on how efficiently you play and how big your LP pool is. In addition to that, you'd then get a 2nd copy of the points SR and one of the ranking, for +1 gem from the score SR bond and then, if that's all you were after, +2 from using the seals from eating them to idolize other SRs and bonding them (though 1 of those you'd also get just from the first score SR). In addition, you'd go from 2 gems at t4 to 1 ticket at t3, which, if we're generous, we'll count as +3 gems. So maybe it's worth it to t3 if your LP pool is big enough, but it's awfully close, and requires a lot more playing. For maximum gems for minimal effort, stop at the 2 gems at 47500 points.

I don't mean ranking award gems. I mean gems you get for getting up the rewards track for event points. It's also hard to get up to 47500 points. I usually stop after I get the SR and I know I will never get a copy as I don't want to spend 20 hours playing the same songs over and over again.

yeah, as far as gems for score go, past the first SR you get 2 at 32500, 2 at 47500, 2 at 62500 (at which point you're definitely t3), and idk beyond that. Those are included in the calculation above.

Yeah, it's not an insignificant amount of time, it's why I'm glad for events like the current EN one and the upcoming JP one that I can ignore and just play one song/day for. It's also why I never go for t2 (except for the one time I did when I thought it might be the last Nico event right before the Final Live and this last event where my normal "participating in the event" target of 62500 made it to t2 because Best Sunshine Dia is unpopular).

That last Nico event before the final live was also one of the easiest events to t2 for in terms of the point cutoff. Nico events are usually the opposite of that, but it seems that people burned themselves out on all the other stuff happening around the Final Live. Also I agree that burning gems, even to get reward gems, generally makes you break even at best. It's only really worth it if you are going for some other reward that is not the gems.
