It was absolutely the right decision. Who the gently caress cares if we win the game in overtime? You're just giving us more time to get injured and the skill level of the team is just not high enough to expect another sustained drive right after that one.

lol we're playing on thursday? I actually have to go to get on the subway and go to a professional football game on thursday. I have made all of next week's plans based on this game occurring at 1 on a Sunday like a real football game. Well, team should be fresh for a quick turnaround thanks to that bye we had 15 eons ago on week 4. I would have sold these tickets to giants fans if i knew it was thursday, but i already invited family so i'm screwed and now have to actually attend thursday night "football."

They were 12-4 but the Titans started 10-0 and finished 13-3. 49ers were also 12-4 and a wildcard team in 1998 because Atlanta won the old NFC West at 14-2 (And were still the 2 seed cause the Vikings went 15-1). And related to that, there's been a handful of 11-5 teams to miss the playoffs entirely (Patriots in 2008, one of Elway's teams in the late 80s) and a bunch of ten win teams to stay home (Cardinals, Bucs, and Giants have all done it in the last five or six years).

The Eagles/Giants is the oldest rivalry in the NFC East, going back to 1933. The Giants currently lead the series 84-79.

(1932 results) October 9 Boston Braves 14–6 Braves Field October 23 Tie 0–0 Polo Grounds The weird thing is the Eagles and Redskins first game against each other wasn't until 1934, even though in the Eagles inaugural season they were in the same division as the Redskins. I just got that from the Giants' wiki pagequote:The team's heated rivalry with the Philadelphia Eagles is the oldest of the NFC East rivalries, dating all the way back to 1933, and has been called the best rivalry in the NFL in the 21st century.[7][8] The two citations are from the same article by an Eagles writer in 2008 so it's not outside the realm of possibility that the info is wrong.

For the second season in a row the Redskins are playing a meaningful primetime game in the Christmas week. Is...is this real life? Also, the 'Skins are a whopping 2-15 at home in FedEx Field on MNF. That's...insane. I've watched every single one of those 17 losses, I'd wager. NattyBo fucked around with this message at 01:21 on Dec 20, 2016 |

Well, at least we have more wins than loses to the ex-NFC east whipping boy Cardinals. * double checks that on PFR to be sure * FUUUUUUCK.
