Drunk Driver Dad posted:I don't think we have an apron. If would need to fully cover my shirt, most like cooking aprons aren't very wide at the top and there are more little tiny rogue droplets than you would expect, which add up. We do have those thin, full suits painter's use but that would be a pain in the rear end to get in and out of with the way I'm using the instapak on and off all night. The word you want is "Smock" As in " Painter's Smock" It's a reverse jacket that you put on from the front, has sleeves and pockets and poo poo.

Just go ask for a smock supply. I agree that you should wear your grungy clothes for bonus effect. Since this is the OSHA thread we're obligated to tell you your employer is obligated to supply proper PPE. Especially if your peroxide concentration, before reaction, exceeds much past 3℅ or something. Stuff's nasty in higher concentrations.

A issue with astronaut gloves themselves is that the thimbles can cause fingernail damage and detachment. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2010/09/100913-science-space-astronauts-gloves-fingernails-injury/

So they're basically just steel-toed boots, the gloves?
|
# ? Dec 20, 2016 21:21 |

Yeah, but I assume it's some sort of non Newtonian fluid in there to allow flexibility when not being bashed with a hammer.

Steel toed boots: the gloves is a pretty big deal because its hard to have all of dexterity, strike resistance, and cut resistance in one glove. Maybe even mild chemical resistance with the rubber(?) coating. I'll be more wowed if there was a price and if they do more demos with things requiring more dexterity than a power tool trigger. There is already a problem with getting people to pay for gloves as they wear out or use anything more restrictive thank a basic knuckle protector.
