You're already dead

i still have a first gen ipad mini which uses the ipad 2 guts and it constantly runs out of memory / crashes on anything but the most basic apps so an ipad 1 would be loving miserable

Is macOS Sierra much slower than El Capitan or not for things like logging in. It takes like 30 seconds to log in on a brand new Macbook Pro with nothing unusual installed. I did forget to completely wipe and reinstall the operating system on the brand new computer because they somehow always come from the factory with dirty installs that are always much faster when you reinstall. I will have to purchase a dongle to reinstall the OS though.

Apple does not even sell a dongle to use a modern display with their new computers. Their $80 dongle does not carry 4k@60Hz and you have to get one from newegg/amazon (not that you wouldn't anyway).

I thought that the Macbook Pro that I got was the last generation because I chose the one without the touch bar and assumed it would have normal ports and they used to always have the last gen model on the main store page. I didn't even read the product description nor was I aware they messed up all the new models because I don't watch keynotes and I assumed that it was possible to purchase a 13" Pro with normal ports and got owned. At least it's not my money.

I used it correctly according to Apple philosophy: buying it without needing to pore over a bunch of crap and expecting it to suit my needs without doing a bunch of extra work.

i don't know if looking at a product description for an expensive notebook and seeing if it does what you need it to counts as "poring over."

I still like it but they should do something like for people like me who assume the products won't require a bunch of extra bullshit you have to buy from third parties out of the box.

it's not fast but honestly it's not worth upgrading for the use cases where a tablet makes sense, namely browsing while taking a poo poo or viewing pornhub on a bigger screen

eh ios5 made it a bit slower but the battery life is avg

thing is its 95% used for airvideo, and just acts as a dumb wireless movie watcher for in bed. it still does that job flawlessly

it cant deal with browsing, the ituens store is broken, but old games like wheres my water and cut the rope are still playable

It'd be hard to get bored on this ship!
So apple had removal of launch daemons (task scheduler in windows? IDK wtf happens in windows / cron in other unix os's) in their roadmap until a mac janitor pointed out that they're kinda critical for, y'know, a ton of poo poo to work.

Apple's response: "Oh yeah, we hadn't thought about that. I guess we'll see about keeping 'em in after all"
