It's cool, the PSStore crashed when I tried to buy it just now.

It needs to be a game that is both Metroid and Vania.

Or more accurately, the Vania part refers only to Symphony of the Night, which was the first good game to emulate metroid style level design.

Just a heads up, Ys 1 and Ys 2 were originally designed as 1 game so while they're separate games, when you beat Ys 1 you're just gonna be left going "eh? that's it?" unless you move on to Ys 2 where the story continues, and iirc they're bundled on steam so you can't get one without the other and there is even an option or something that moves you straight from one to the next.

The other Ys games outside of 1-2(which should be played together since they are super short and tell one whole story) are vastly different so you should give Oath or Origins a swing even if by the end of 2 the games didn't do much for you.

Ys I is also unfortunately kind of a rough game that was improved a lot with its sequel. I still think it's worth playing though! But even if you don't care for it all that much be sure to give the rest of the other Steam Ys games a look anyway because they play a lot differently.
