I thought the lines seemed very stiff, albeit funny, apart from these two things:Data Graham posted:Jeremy trying quite genuinely to keep a straight face while they're poking him with blow-up doll parts) and the bulls loving each other on the car scale It's easy to write a Moroccan bull going gay for another, but to produce it...

Just got to the segment. So glad the beeb didn't stop their Christmas car gift reviews I always loved those and hoped they'd continue.

I don't understand their episode theming at all. They go to Finland and they do a "love letter to Ford" episode. Not that I'm complaining. Mustang vs RS, heh, And the GT film was one of the best "story" segments they've ever done. Thank you James for going deep on the details.

I don't know much about motorsport but love cars, so the rivalry piece tonight was excellent. Glad to get schooled on a subject I know little about

Maybe if buying stock in a company required you to have even the most basic interest in what they do, companies could do more cool stuff.

Well, it'd help if the rules for rallying/tintop racing were still "do what you like as long as you sell it to people in the same spec".

If anyone especially liked May's GT40 segment, I recommend hunting out a copy of Target 200, a Ford period newsreel type film, as well as This Time Tomorrow.

I like ice cream and I liked most of that episode. I skip over anything with Mike Skinner though. I had to look up those Rocket Skates on youtube. Why would they ever market a retail version that leaves you hobbling around when not actively power rolling? The wheels should retract so you can walk normally.

^^^ What's the joke there? I haven't seen the new-Top Gear at all yet. This was basically old-Top Gear awesome level, great episode all-around. Still, they're really wasting their time going around the world and not doing anything locally. They should've had the guys build a Datsun 100A and chop wood while drinking beer, at least. The only disappointment was that nobody used "Ambitious but rubbish", I think that would be pretty accurate in general.

Looks like it was in reference to this. Ken Block, with Matt LeBlanc riding shotgun, in the 'hoonicorn' mustang did his usual thing near the memorial.

Last week (?) they poked fun at this, apparently it's one of those catchphrases they're not allowed to use anymore. They were all like "It's almost as though we tried to do something really impressive, but we failed in a really spectacular way... I sure wish there were some kind of phrase to describe this..." E: A shame because it would have made a good condom slogan.

Does anyone else think the music is really boring or just plain bad? Episode 6 had faint hints of good music but most of the time its just really BAD. I understand bbc had an awesome license so music didnt really cost top gear anything but amazon needs to work on licensing film soundtracks again..

I don't really get it, it seems like a total waste. I was hoping that they would have something interesting with the Saab and the Porsche that showed up in the intro. That said, the GT40 segment was top notch, May did an amazing job on keeping it interesting throughout.

I'd like each episode to be based on local car culture too, but I can see why it'd be a massive logistical pain to do. Though it's not like they're lacking the funds to do it.

The only real "local car culture" segment they've done is the South African drifting thing they sent James on, right?
