It's worth noting that Reginald also didn't take it upon himself to discuss with his players about dropping out of EPL in the first place. I agree with your point, though. Basically, everyone in esports is an idiot/rear end in a top hat/shady as hell and nobody knows what a real working relationship is like

The players are mostly idiots but how would they not be? Their only job has ever been to play CS, and shitbag org owners are going to have the experience and means and motive to take advantage of them. That's what players unions exist for. Owners throwing their talent under the bus is pretty much SOP and has been since time immemorial, regardless of what the talent in question is.

I'm loving the labor negotiations/discussions stemming from this. I can see both sides points, yet I'm siding with the players slightly more at this point, pending further information. Must be the socialist in me.

Not only does it make better competition for them worldwide, but it's much better to spectate as a fan. Sean just went about this whole thing horribly. If he had any sense of how to actually deal with other human beings in a business sense other than IGL then he very well could have prevented this whole thing.

I'm 100% on the player's side pretty much no matter what the case is, organizations and their owners are always shady scummy people, gently caress 'em.

Now I want to know much hollywood accounting there is in the PEA profit sharing agreements. I wouldn't be surprised if the players got their shares from the net profits, that is, if they league was creative with their accounting, the players wouldn't make anything. Edit: I'm wondering because the 50/50 split Reginald mentioned sounds far too good to be true for the players. Smol fucked around with this message at 09:15 on Dec 23, 2016 |

If it worked on reality TV then it will work in real life... Like, DUH!!!! It's too bad he didn't record a vlog to go along with it for the 'tubes I'd also like to hope that these kids would be smart enough to think that maybe they could release this information without directly linking it to themselves somehow, or, you know, consult their own lawyers. It's incredible that none of them ever thought to talk to their parents about this, surely at least one of them would have enough business acumen to know this has L A W Y E R written all over it in big red letters. As far as the PEA goes, it's almost assuredly a scam. Everything Jason Katz did as COO of Azubu is dripping in scum, and look at the state of that site now. At it's peak, thousands of people were restreaming mostly-unknowns from twitch and elsewhere verbatim, with their own donation links, cashing in on that and the ad rev. They pissed away $600k/mo paying KeSPA for exclusivity, only really serving to help fracture the SC2 progaming community. They also did this with several other notable tournaments/leagues, mostly for CoD, SC2, LoL, World of Tanks, etc. They still owe many of the teams/houses that streamed as part of an agreement large sums of money (some claim >$15k/mo!) in addition to a handful of tournaments that have yet to be paid out. The last I remember, Azubu was citing some sort of stipulation in their contract about the payout terms. Unfortunately it is notoriously hard to search for these things, as most of them seem to have taken place on reddit, which also gets pretty aggressively scrubbed of drama. There was also a notable incident where they were serving malware over their banner ads during the finals of an SC2 tournament, but quickly turned around to blame it on the ad network and removed all of the banners. Oddly enough I can't seem to find any of the reddit threads for this, either. There was also this whole money laundering/fraud issue that caused them to lose three major partners in a day, and hosed up a bunch of League stuff, but I'm not privy to all that. How he managed to become Chief Commissioner and CEO of PEA after all of this is beyond me. I would love to hear from someone at Riot, what it is he exactly did for them when he worked there. It's extremely important to remember that this slimey fucker (Jason Katz) went to law school and is actually an attorney first, with a bachelors in political science/philosophy. THEN he pivoted into all of this PR bullshit. He was academically and later corporately trained to offer you a deal that seems too good to be true, write a contract that does the exact opposite of what he told you, and then beat you senseless with it before running off with the cash. SO, all that said: I have zero doubt the players are definitely getting hosed. Strap yourselves in because we're about to see some seriously impressive PR spin. I clearly have a lot of untapped salt from Azubu's contribution to the death of SC2.

TSM isn't going to be a good CS team in the current climate (or any climate really). Time for Regi to cut his losses and go back to bullying League players & riot staff.

Imagine a MMO where people try to stop you from grinding, and if you get behind, it's literally impossible to come back and win. Also it takes 45 minutes, but you usually lose within the first 20.
