I had no idea she was based on a real person. I kept her on the nomandy just because I don't like turning anyone away. I played Femshep and she did have quite a bit to say, usually after main plot beats like anyone else. She'd do her little show and ask for exclusive interviews and stuff. I liked her spin on the big events, and that she had a big following with male turians. She did dress basically like a pornstar though which was offputting.

Took the thread's advice and started a Mass Effect 1 playthrough as a black guy. The crappy character creator is actually quite good at making convincing black dudes, even if any other ethnicity looks like a Monster Factory reject.

Created a maleshep for the first time just to use those. Now I find out Kaidan isn't a jerk and Ash is totally different too, who knew. I do sound kinda bored a lot of the time though.

Mass Effect: the next one will probably be a pretty good game. It'll have a bunch of weird BioWare BS but even these shall feel familiar and comfortable, in a way. Probably one or two aspects of it will improve significantly from ME3 and DAI, while similarly another one or two aspects will be frustrating and ill-conceived. Even folks who hate it will play it at least 60 hours.

I've always seen people complain about ME3's ending, but this is the second time I try to go through the game and I just give up, so I can't even get to it. Holy gently caress what an infuriatingly bad game. My personal opinion is that mass effect went wrong when they gave too big of a spotlight to cerberus starting on ME2, which should stay nothing more than a small enemy you meet every now and then. You give me a loving space exploration game and you want me to focus on loving humans? This is just blown up to 11 in ME3 where the game is so loving bogged down with cerberus mission after cerberus mission. I was just introduced to kai leng and holy poo poo, the lengths they go to ensure you this guy is a badass are just sad. I dropped it again. gently caress this game. I can only hope they won't repeat the same mistake with this new game, since they can start fresh. The return to the ME1 origins and the frontier feeling all sound very promising to me. I'm pretty sure bioware will find new and amazing ways to discourage me, though.

I just got the itch and am playing through the first one again as well and I agree...I can actually model a surprisingly good facsimile of my face along with proper complexion. I think this series and TES (especially oblivion) are the only two series where I could really drill down and do so. Probably one of the reasons why I have an affinity for both. ..Just got done with becoming a Spectre and opening that Galaxy Map again for the first time...  ...Feels good. I missed it. I should be all the way through three again by the time Andromeda comes out.

Just finished ME3 for the first time since release. The combat was good enough to make up for the dumb plot points. It got especially hilarious with the N7 Lancer + mag capacity and James' inferno ammo with explosions. Warp explode brutes 24/7. If andromeda can keep it that fun, I'll play it for that. Whoever had the idea for kai leng though, what the gently caress. He's as embarrassing as benezia's voice acting in ME1.
